Shocked:  Who would turn down an offer for land that was once yours? Germany really is run by apologetic wimps these days.

Even Germany is only 2/3 of the size it once was, while the wimp nation of France grew a little larger after the war.
Well, as NilsZ actually live in Germany he wrote later that this happened in the early 90'. The overall political situation in Europe was unstable.

Having a piece of land surrounded by other countries like Poland and Lithuania not connected directly to Germany (the same situation was before the outbreak of WWII and this was one of the reasons for Hitler to attack Poland, because Polish government back in 1939 refused to connect this terrain with Third Reich using a highway).

The Germany was unifying again after many years of division and the German government had probably more serious problems to solve (like the financial differences between the former East and West Germany - still unsolved to this day).

No offense, but as always Americans knows nothing about European history, LOL.
What did I say that was inaccurate?
Russia was bankrupt, it needed money.

Your mention of a reunited Germany having financial issues was more the reason why the deal never passed. And yes, much of East Berlin to this day are the crummy apartments the Soviet government built while the West is a paradise in comparison.

Quote I: "Who would turn down an offer for land that was once yours? Germany really is run by apologetic wimps these days."

The "deal" was proposed in the early 90' of XX century not "these days". Those were different times and NilsZ wrote the reasons why the offer was rejected.

Quote II: "while the wimp nation of France..."

Another stereotype. Yes, in the France they were always (and are) socialistic and leftist political views, but that doesn't mean that all French people are like that. France is one of the most important countries in today Europe and there are many French citizens that are against "imigrants" and lowering the significance of the European Union. This is the fault of the politicians (as always) that we have that mess in Europe today (and people who voted for them).

You will need to remember Myron that generalization is a bad habit. Nothing is all black or all white in life.

Indeed, I just have a hard time remembering France winning a conflict after Napoleon's downfall.

France's butt was kicked three times by Germany alone, Franco-Prussian War, WWI*, and WWII. And rebels of Algeria and Vietnam drove them out as well.

*It is said that the UK prevented France's fall during WWI, though France likes to deny it.

A very unfair argument from your side Myron. Such wars simply cannot be won by Western countries (the examples of USA intervention in Vietnam and endless war in Afghanistan).

Even the mighty Red Army got their ass kicked in Afghanistan in the 80' of XX century.

Classic big armies can do nothing to crush rebels (unless in big open battles, but the rebels will avoid them at all costs).

Of course such rebels never fight without "external" help (i.e. Vietcong supported by China and USSR) and use partisans methods (described by them as "patriotic liberation war").

Those rebels will take advantage of the unstable political situation in the country where they are fighting (i.e. weak, corrupted South-Vietnamese government during the Vietnam war).

Even a modern, costly, high-tech equipment will not help. A peasant armed with AK-47 will win no matter how hard You will try. Of course you could kill him, but there will be others to come.

The only method would be to drop an A-bomb on them and turn their land into desert, but such order will not be given by any Western country leader (General Douglas MacArthur suggested this during the war in Korea and was kicked out of the command).

The rebels know about this perfectly.

This is sad but true.

You two fellows should watch this hilarious Cold War comedy of an American Coca-Cola businessman stationed in West Berlin.

Part 1: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5pa1ai
Part 2: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5pa2so

Here it is dubbed: https://videa.hu/videok/film-animacio/e ... Vho6K1w6X6
What is the language? It sounds really familiar, but I can't recognize the writing.
It is in Hungarian language. Abbreviation "hu" in a website adress means that this is a Hungarian website.
Thank you for the information; thup01 the language sounded Germanic, but it didn't sound like German itself.

Anyway, it's a funny movie. Watch it.

Don't be too hard with Myron. I agree with his first quote. We have a hard political imbalance in Germany. Nationalistic Parties are threatened like criminals nowadays. So the neo marxists and neo liberal are very strong. And that's why we have so many fake refugees and unemployed.

Well, my uncle that lives in west Germany (Essen) says the same. However, nationalism is a very fragile thing - i would be careful with that.

OK, i started to get off-topic here which is really bad. :-?

So, NilsZ and Myron do You have any proposals of changes in the H&D Deluxe Greece campaign before i record the gameplay and upload it on my Youtube channel?

I think there should "vehicle carcasses" added to various parts in Ardennes 2.

The Prague campaign has many of them.

Hmm. You mean vehicle wrecks?

If so i probably could add few jeeps and Sherman tank wrecks. Unfortunately there are no US trucks and halftracks models available in H&D Deluxe.

EDIT: i added few US vehicles wrecks along the main road in the Ardennes 2 mission (see pictures below).

OK now? Any other changes?

I think a "wreck" would be the result of a car accident.

Whereas I've heard the word "carcass" applied to a military vehicle that was either shot up, or frozen so badly it's inoperable.

It's probably for the same reason why a ship gets referred to as a person rather than an object.

UPDATE: No dead panzers, or supply trucks?

Well, the US forces were caught by surprise by the German counter-offensive.

However i could add some German carcasses too.

In greece3 is the snow Panther in use instead of the summer version. In Devils bridge was the right model used. also many enemies have the lightning reaction in that campaign.

btw. did you play sometimes multi player? there were a lot more funny bugs

I replaced the winter Panther camo version with the summer camo version some time ago (see picture below).

Panther Summer Camo - credits for Edward Pinniger.

I will look into reaction times of the enemies as well.

I don't play multiplayer - only single.

Holy Crap. A violent struggle took place in this forest.

You should add some ghostly noises and faint voices in the background.

He even got hold of the summer one where the partisans smeared off the German cross with gray paint.

In fact, I don't know if a summer one with the original markings even exists.
