NEW MAPS

Hi....first time for me here so i hope this works!!

I have downloaded Africa 1B & New-Africa 1 maps, however I don't seem to be able to install them in the correct place..(folder) so that I can take part in games online which are in these maps and I would also like to install the maps so that I can use them in my own games when I create a server.

All advice, tips and hints would be appreciated...."THANKS!"...McHaggis

I think you forgot to add them on mpmaplist.txt

There should be instructions withing the files how to add them.

They dont need to be in your maplist to play them as a client...

Thanks for the quick response...I got a maplist from a friend with loads of new maps. I have removed the original maplist from the H&D2 folder and replaced it with the mpmaplist he sent me.I also put it into my Missions folder. (I also opened the properties option and ticked the "Read Only" box, just as it is in the original mpmaplist file)

Now the problem is when I try to create a server. I have a whole load of new maps in the menu from which I can choose from, however when I try to create a server using, for example Africa 1b the programme runs as normal.."open ports" "creating server" and then all I get is a message saying "Server Created" and a few seconds late I am back at the main menu.

I did manage to open a server using Africa1 from the same list, no problems.

Any ideas why I can't create a server using the "new maps" ??

Do you got H&D2 & Sabre or only H&D2?

hi, H&D2 SS all patches installed (v 1.12).

Try to start an dedicated server ... normaly the ds will tell you if there are any mistakes made in the maplist ... maybe that?s the problem

Or the map isnt installed correctly...

Many thanks guys for your help...but I'm just going to go with what comes with the original game........it's been doing my nut in all day!!!!!...and before I do any more "GoBacks" and mess my PC up...I'm cutting my losses and running.

Thanks for you help anyway...oh before I go I got another question....I like to play against my dad who lives in the UK and we play often together...what is missing is the "Voice" option.

How do I..or should I say we, set up the games so that we can talk to each other during the game over microphone. I have joined a few games in the past and heard and spoken to other players...so I know it is possible...just don't know how to "enable speech".

Options - Multiplayer options - Enable in game voice or somthing like that
Oh and if you start it the first time it might be better to start the game in a window to config the voice and the firewall (can?t remember if it changes anything with the firewall)
