jeep won't move forward !!!

I've just bought hidden and dangerous 2 , and the Sabre Squadron add-on , - both of which load up ok . I have though developed a problem in the first mission - the training mission . I can complete the assault course , then the firing range and grenade/bazooka targets , but upon reaching the driving pool , i get into the jeep and find it won't move forward . i can turn the steering wheel left and right and the brake light comes on if i press the backwards key . Can anyone advise on a solution to this problem ?
it has started since i installed the Sabre squadron add-on - i tried the training mission with the basic HD2 - and the jeep worked fine . But upon installing Sabre Sqaudron - i get this fault !

I've also had another problem - with just HD2 installed i completed the training mission - and then just got a black screen and it locked up . i completed it 3 times and got this every time . That's why i thought i'd install S.S. - i thought a later version of HD2 might cure this problem ! Can't prove it though because the JEEP won't move !!!
I have installed the HD2 v1.11.0 and Sabre squadron .

1st dont install HD version 1.11, leave it unpatched...

Then, are you sure your controls dont get messed up and you are holding down the "hand brake" button?

Thanks for replying . i had no choice with v 1.11 - when i installed SS it upgraded it from the original v1.1 . i got my hands on the latest patch (v1.12) - but when i click on the .exe file for it starts , goes through an initial install process , then tells me it's already installed . Upon firing up HD2 (or SS for that matter.) it still says that v1.11 is the newest version . So another problem ! Can anyone advise in this ?
How this game ever got on the market with so many bugs is beyond me !

Then you didnt patch it to 1.11, lol.

I think you are installing the wrong 1.12 patch.

There are 2, 1 for SS and 1 for HD2.

If you are gonna get messed up.

How big is the patch you dled?

I've now removed both HD2 and SS , and reinstalled just HD2 (which is v1.1) . the patch i downloaded was about 127mb - which i think is for HD2 rather than SS . I've tried to install it , but again - another bug ! Upon trying to install it , it goes through a 'verifying installer' procedure reaches 100% , then tells me that v 1.12 is already installed . Upon loading up HD2 it tells me - you guessed it - I'm still on version 1.1 ! tried playing it again - still the same old problems - locks up at end of training mission !

Wrong patch, you want the 21.3 mb patch, that patch you got is for HD2 ALONE.
