Game won't start

Updated my system to WinXP, 2800XP Athalon, 512mb ram ,Geforce 5700 FX

However when I got to start the game (fresh install, 1.12 patch) I get a blank window opening and then the whole screen goes blank and nothing happens.

I have used the auto detect in set-up and even tried running the game with the sound card disconnected

Any ideas?

Beta drivers? I?ve read there are some trouble with some "newer" ones

I have the latest Nvidia drivers added (66.93), but also tried it with older ones (61.76) but neither works

The irony is it all worked fine on my Win 98, 1200 Athalon system :)

I have now changed to SB 24 live s/card but still no joy.

DirectX & XP are up to date

Is there any way of starting the game without the intor video?

Hmm if you think it?s a movie problem you also can try to download the radtool http://www.hidden-and-dangerous2.com/do ... ile_id=156 it?s the codec from the movies. Might be that this will help

Mine was with a secondary PC I was setting up for dedicated but wanted to run HD2 to see how it handled things. I was using a much lesser vid card previously and the updated one did what you describe.

Tried to do the detect in setup but no luck. Not sure why but when I went into the video card setup and set everything to low and/or off then restarted, it worked. I then went back in and reset the vid to what I wanted.

Not sure if that will hope but wish you luck.
