Conflict with Disc Emulator - HELP!

Unread post by Valleyhunter` » Tue Nov 02, 2010 12:06 pm

Hi guys,

Just re-installed the game after many, many years away. Just realised how much I missed it when I found it on my shelf today.

OS XP, nothing fancy.
So, installed and downloaded all the patches...which is when the problem started.
After install the game starts no problem. Patch 1.02 - game starts no problem.
Patch 1.03 gives error message "Conflict with Disc Emulator Software detected. See www.securom.com/emulation for more details."
WTF?

Anybody got any ideas? I've installed, uninstalled and re-installed 3 times now. Not ready to give up just yet.

Download the last patch (1.12) and instead of useing an discemulator use an no cd crack. Made this since it was released and used 1.03 and deamontools installed without getting ever any kind of an warning.

Great thanks.
Now please explain to me wtf is a disc emulator and how would I have used one when I don't know a) what it is and b) what it does...
I (still) got the game the way it was when I first bought it...in a box. Nice box too  and I have a normal DVD/Disc drive. Standard setup.
How do I avoid the disc emulation error? I never had this issue before.

I'll happily uninstall and reinstall the game...again...and this time you say, skip the patches for HD2 and go straight for the SQ patch?
Btw...I have the disc for that as well but not gotten that far in my installation due to the problems above.

Cheers.

Hehe .. well the emulator emulate as it name says it an disc drive. So if you have any kind of an iso file you can boot it with these emulators without puting the cd/dvd in your drive. I used these programs ages before cause my pioneer dvd was always runing at full speed. Some copyprotections don't like them so they moan arround if they find anything. Maybe you have Nero installed? That program has also an disc emulator.
About the patch .. if you only have HD2 and not the addon you need just this patch http://hidden-and-dangerous.net/files/h ... ch1_12.zip installed after your instalation.
If you have sabre install hd2 than install sabre (patches automaticly to 1.11) and install than the http://hidden-and-dangerous.net/files/h ... ch1_12.zip - nothing more. Try than if the copyprotection still moans arround - if it will be use google for searching an no cd crack/exe .. or pm me ;)

Norton AntiVirus shows me a virus warning for the HD2 crack.
HD2 Sabre Squadron crack seems to be fine.
