I forgot to ask, what kind of H&D are you guys playing? The free internet Deluxe download, or the Action Pack version from Steam?
The free download Deluxe version and the Deluxe from the Action Pack are completely the same. I began with the HD Delxue download version in 2005 and i am only using that version. I own also HD2+Addon, HD classic, FFF and the Playstation-Version. But my only favourite is HD Deluxe.
Hmm, I got the free download, but it consisted solely of Deluxe.
The Action Pack on Steam gives access to all three games; Vanilla, FFF, and Deluxe. The reason I ask is, well, because I'd like to know if modding the Steam game is any different than modding the free internet download.

Modding is the same.
The only difference in the Action pack is that Vanilla and FFF can run without safe mode on newer windows versions.
The CD-versions only run in safe mode on my computer. (Not the windows safe mode, just a comand line paramter)

Well, I know the location of the game's folders is different, and another reason I am interested is because, well, it's been my hope that not only do soldiers be transferable from FFF to Deluxe, but all the FFF weapon-sights-models be moved as well, as I think it's silly that certain weapons get looked down the barrel and others from the side.

Wow, thank you!
They didn't imitate the lines; they took the literal audio. LOL
What are they saying?
Didn't you just love the two Band of Brothers references?

I am working at the italian troops at the moment. Do you like the uniform? I don't know which color i should give them. My idea is to make different uniforms, like the germans in green, grey, brown, etc.

Nice looking uniform
I recommend to check Google graphics for reference (pictures of uniforms).

Unluckily most pictures are in black-white xD
The rest that i found were drawings and colorized pictures from Afrika :/
I took the enemy-scream sounds from the italian HDD sound files. They scream "Hold your fire", "Stop" and "Hey" on italian when they see you.
I made now this brown-grey uniform:

I also made some time ago new uniform textures for my H&D Deluxe add-ons - what graphic program you used?
Would be nice to add also Italian weapons into the game like the Carcano rifle. I remember that i tried to find a free 3d model of that rifle on the Internet, but i didn't manage to find suitable one. Maybe you will have more luck.

I use GIMP, i really like it. Many features and high compatibility.
The problems are the weapon slots. There is too smal storage for the IDs in the source code. I didn't find a line to change it :(
imagine 256 weapon slots or more :D

Well i used simply Windows Paint for my uniform re-textures. I am watching the movie "Captain Corelli's Mandolin" on tv now and your new Italian uniforms look realistic.
As for limited inventory slots: at least you could replace some weapons / items with another ones. If i were you i would just add new weapons commonly used in WW2 (or by SAS especially) and remove those used rarely in small numbers to counter the max items slots restrictions in inventory table.
