running a h&d 2 sabre squadron on wine with ubuntu anyone?

after many attempts of trying to get my server working on windows i thought after no luck i try on my linux machine running ubuntu  this machine in router is dmz and all curent linux game servers are running fine on it..
wine installed fine but it does not like the hd server software it loads server ok but when map added it bombs to desktop very quickly...error cant initalise to apartment cant multi thread...anyone played with this or am i on my own?

As far as I remember it is possible to play with wine hd2 sp without any problems at a linux system. The MP will not work cause wine isin´t able to emulate the directplay DX8 features

thanks lars  so does even a game server eg hd 2 req direcx compat to run?
is that why the server crashes to desktop after loading map?

Well I think it will crash after you load a map in the console cause the game is trying to use the dxplay files witch wine can´t emulate (yet)
