How can the turret turn if the engine has no fuel, and thus can't run the motor?

In the classical game, the turret could swing 360 degrees, or at least far enough back where it could destroy the halftrack right behind it. In Deluxe, it can't turn anywhere enough. Can that be fixed?
Is there any way to destroy the second barge, the one under the bridge? The first one can be blown with a single tank shot. But the second one, I fired two bazooka rounds at it, and got nothing.

Ah ha! I completely forgot about this destroyable footbridge located right next to the bridge, over the secondary lock-gate. Does that bridge have a usable model?

P.S. Why not speed up the boat? The detector was in the right place. The boat is just slow-as-a-snail compared to the classic.

Historically, a tank's turret could be also operated manually (full 360 degrees traverse).

The second barge on the canal is only a un-destroyable model i think.

About the footbridge - i don't know that.

I don't know how fast was the patrol boat in classic H&D - this is not a destroyer which could reach speeds even 30 knots, lol.

OK, i edited the Tiger tank on the bridge - its turret should now rotate 360 degrees.

Please download the Yugoslavia 3 mission again.

Yes, if you shoot that foot-bridge made of mesh with the tank, it blows up. :mrgreen:

As for the barges, ok. I see. In Germany 5, there are two white stone bridges, identical, and yet only 1 can be blown up. It's weird. :shock:

I think the boat is treated like the half-tracks in Germany 5; there are two speeds, and the developer of Deluxe gave it the slower speed. Same with the Kubelwagen found in Germany 5, it only goes half the speed of any other Kubelwagen found in the entire game.

CRAP!! I FORGOT!
I forgot to mention the German reinforcements! Didn't they arrive a little too soon? They are on foot, and we are on a boat...

To fight off these reinforcements, the tank might need a few more rounds.

Also, can a jeep or motorcycle be chasing us down the road? The instructor says we are being chased by vehicles.
A vehicle can spawn going down either side of the river, down the road, and be programmed to stop at the ends of the bridge.

Since you seem anxious to do Yugoslavia 5, I will give what I can think of right now.

Partisans built this airfield, so they should help defend it. A pair of snipers, and some ZB-26s laying down next to the building. The snipers could hide behind the hay bundles. A partisan or two could defend the back of the building too, as seven Germans try to flank us from the rear. And MG nest might be built there.

As for the Germans, I can only think of doubling their number, including the one motorcycle. An intense COD4-style battle! :mrgreen:

Sadly, that's all I can think of. Maybe you can think of more stuff.

P.S. Did you know of a cool bug that allows you to "reload" the panzerfausts you pick up inside the building? Please don't change it.

Now, I shall start Yugoslavia 4, and see what's new.

Yugoslavia 4 review.

I was going to suggest adding a small partisan skirmish on the other side of the map, but given that you seem to have reduced the number of enemies, never mind.

Note: there are at least two MG gunners armed with No69 grenades.

Also, I just now found out, the German timed grenades, the gray ones, are impact.

LOL, you turned my favorite attack route into a minefield!

OK, i edited the Yugoslavia 5 mission.

I added 2 partisans with Lee Enfield rifles - 300 rounds each.

I changed the weapons of the Romanian gendarmes to Mauser K98 rifles, because the Romanian units were basically poorly equipped (only the Germans will use MP40 in this mission).

I removed the Colt 1911 pistol from enemy inventory. (Lend-Lease program?)

I didn't add any more enemies, because this mission is actually quite hard by default in my opinion.

Any feedback will be appreciated!

Hopefully i could now start editing the Germany 1 mission.

Indeed, the Romanians would be "osttruppen"; poorly equipped.

My family LOVES this mission; it's a sniper's feast.
I find it boring, because they ALWAYS make me guard the back entrance.


P.S. Yugoslavia 2 now has it's instructions back, but 1 and 3 still don't.

P.P.S. I've had a second thought; is it possible for us to spawn with German uniforms in Germany 1?
I would LOVE to try wearing the uniform the "Romanians" wear, the one with the red arm-band. But it would be much more logical if we wore the green German uniform with the backpack, because hey, we are carrying stuff.

Plus, the pictures of Germany 4 and 5 show us wearing those green uniforms.

Well, i could add the possibility to equip the green German uniform with backpack into the German campaign. It would be possible (i did that once).

I also edited the enemy weapons ID in Germany1 mission to match the newest data.dta archive.

OK, i managed to add green German uniform with backpack into the available inventory list in the 3rd H&D Deluxe campaign (Germany).

I was forced to edit some items descriptions, but this will have no impact on actual gameplay.

Please download the updated data.dta archive. I also uploaded the edited Germany1 mission.


Below i posted a picture of SAS commando from Germany1 mission dressed in enemy uniform :grin: .


So far i changed for you 2 entire campaigns of stock H&D Deluxe (Italy and Yugoslavia). thup01

I managed to make some changes in the Germany2 mission. thup01

In the stock mission, you cannot shoot through the surrounding fence, because the fence material was set to "AI transparent" - meaning that the AI could only see through it. I changed the fence material to "Border".

Unfortunately, you cannot shoot through the glass windows in Germany2 mission. Of course i could set their material type to "Border", but this will look stupid when the bullet pass through the window not breaking it, lol.

However, in FFF expansion they introduced windows with breakable glass - see the picture below.

Maybe i will try to convert stock windows from Germany2 mission into breakable ones using 3ds Max. However, i don't guarantee you that. It will be a lot of work. To be honest, i always wanted the windows from Germany2 mission to be breakable, in order to shot the Germans, that were located inside the villa, lol. :grin:

OK, i managed to create a new destroyable window model using 3ds Max - the basis was the window model found in the Germany2 mission. thup01

I replaced all the stock small windows from the Steiner's villa in Germany2 mission with my new breakable ones - it was a lot of work, because i added each window manually in the HD editor. Now, those windows could be actually break by even a single shot, giving the man behind it no more cover. You need to add this new breakable window model into your H&D Deluxe. To do so, unpack the models.mod.rar archive into your main H&D Deluxe directory. This model uses stock textures for this window type, so there is no need for any new custom textures. :grin:

Below i posted a picture to show you how the new broken window look like in the edited Germany2 mission. :cool:

The guard that is patrolling the area along the fence, is now equipped with key to open all small gates to enter the villa ground and the door to the Steiner's private room, that could be reached from outside.

I edited behavior of enemy guards in the Steiner's villa - some will hold ground inside the various rooms, the other will be more aggressive and could chase the player and his team.

Below i uploaded the modified Germany2 mission, so you could play and test it. Any feedback will be appreciated!

I am thinking about possible changes in the Germany3 mission, but i have no ideas. I already edited this mission long time ago.
Most important would be to change the enemy weapons ID to match the newest data.dta archive.

Very nice touch with our two little helpers. They have incredible eyesight. :eek:
So why non-scoped rifles? :-?
I offered them a ride on the plane, but they chose to stay there, on their land. :cool:
LOL, I remember many years ago shooting one of those panzerfausts at the plane to see what would happen. :mrgreen:
