1st chech mission, train station, save local resistance guy. How fast is fast?

you are supposed to be in time to save the beaten up chech resistance guy...but how fast is in time ?
One time I was not in time, it showed the sequence that my leader says"damn..too late" :? etc.. and a following objective comes up..you can continue.

nevertheless, I restarted the mission.
next I got one of my men up in that room in time while the others were fighting it off outside..
The chech still moved..but nothing happened..so I guessed there were still some germans around to kill..i ordered "everybody follow me" and sure enough, while the others rushed upstairs one killed another german.
And exactly then I got the message "mission failed" and the game ends , while my leader stands perfectly near the chech ?!?!

So, what keeps the chech alive ? (being in that room before this silly "civilian" that crosses the railway terrain reaches the right side of the map ?).
:?:

I don't think there is a way to save him.I believe that the Czech resistance guy dies, regardless of how fast you can get to him.

I've managed to storm the room in which he's being held in under five minutes (By creating a huge distraction and running all-out over the tracks) but I still didn't get there in time, so I'm pretty sure the Czech partisan will go down regardless.

The Czech dude dies regardless, its part of the story line. You have to reach him in time to watch him die!!!! The time limit is there for you to get to the room where he is being interogated...otherwise he dies without telling you about the kraut general who has the plans...which is your link to the next mission.
I've played this on medium and hard and I think you have about 15-20 mins on medium, 10-15 (never timed it exactly) on hard. I'm getting towards this on very hard, so will soon discover what time limit those sadistic Czech bastards at Illusion have saddled me with on VH!!!
Good Luck

I think it's stupid how if he dies you fail yet, he dies and says nothing any way... the whole mission just seems pointless

It would be more fun without a timelimit.

I figure that stealing the "interrogation notes" off the body of one of the Algemine (I apologize for the brutalization of that word.) SS men would be a slightly more realistic goal.

Generally, the G.Sta.Po or the SS never really did torture people that long. Sadistic f*cks.
