Problem with adding a new custom weapon (SOLVED)
Problem with adding a new custom weapon (SOLVED)
Hello everyone,
using 3ds max i created a Sten MKIIS model (it is a weapon with attached silencer).
I added a text description in English for that new weapon and a new item in the inventory table.
I added a new custom shooting sound in *.ogg format in the sound/common/arm directory and i put this new model in the models folder.
Unfortunately, when i wanted to start a new mission with this new weapon equipped the loading bar freezes on 85%.
Could You explain me what i did wrong?

Re: Problem with adding a new custom weapon.
The problem was, that i didn't added properly the sound for the new weapon into the game.
However, there is still a problem with the new weapon model in game. Look below.
EDIT: It is probably related to the wrong weapon model position on one of the axis. I will try to fix that in 3ds Max.

You know that the Stens used integral suppressors right? Can't bring that suppressor back a bunch?

I don't see much difference between my Sten MK IIS model suppressor position (edited default H&D Deluxe Sten) and the real ones.

Hey! Sorry it has been so long...
What I see is a Sten barrel protruding from the Sten receiver and then a suppressor mounted to the end of that barrel. This is NOT how it would have been in reality and not what you can plainly see in the images you use as references.

yes, You are probably right. The suppressor need to be repositioned back, as You suggested earlier. The Sten MKIIS was my first attempt ever to make a new weapon model, in reality i added only a suppressor to the existing stock Sten model from H&D Deluxe. I will try to fix the model using 3ds Max, when i got some free time.

Hello -ViTaMiHnM203-,
i edited the Sten MKIIS model using 3ds Max. I hope, that now it looks as it should - see the picture below.

Hey! That is a lot better, but the suppressor needs to be longer for sure, and greater in circumference if you can manage that.

Re: Problem with adding a new custom weapon (SOLVED)
Well, i am no longer working with this particular Sten version, because H&D Deluxe cannot present properly a silenced firearm (the enemy AI still hear the shots). Since this is hardcoded, there is really no reason for me to continue the work on Sten MKIIS...-ViTaMiHnM203- wrote: ↑Fri May 11, 2018 1:47 pmHey!
