Replacing weapons in H&D Deluxe
Replacing weapons in H&D Deluxe
Hello everyone,
i noticed that many German soldiers in the game use the Mauser K98 sniper rifle, which is unrealistic in my opinion, because only few men were using them during WWII - especially in defence.
I tried to replace the K98 Mauser sniper rifle with the standard Mauser version, but it didn't work.
I replaced the weapon models, description and inventory icon, but in the first person view the sight could be still zoomed-in or out. There is no 1st person Mauser model visible, like the one from the Fight for Freedom expansion.
How could i fix that?
I attached 3 images below, to show what i am talking about.
Of course, if it is possible i would like also to keep the zoom in the Enfield rifle.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Replacing weapons in H&D Deluxe
Meantime i managed to replace the Johnson M41 rifle that the Russian soldiers used i.e in Prague mission to the PPS 41 Spagin submachine gun
Now it is more realistic and historically accurate.
I attached a image showing this weapon in game.

I also replaced the Colt 1911 pistol with the Parabellum P'08 pistol to add more realism to the gameplay.
Now German officers use german pistols instead of american.

Re: Replacing weapons in H&D Deluxe
I finally managed to replace the K98 Mauser sniper rifle with the standard no-scope version.
You need to use HDD Editor to edit the weapons that the enemy soldiers carry.
Open one of the default H&D Deluxe missions in HDD Editor (go to File -> Open mission).
Select the enemy soldier, then go to File -> Edit table -> Current Scene-Actor and open the inventory list.
Next you need to type in the item id (in example Item 15 is MP40) and ammo quantity.
Then you save your changes made in the mission.
I made one image to show how the new Mauser rifle looks like in the game.
It is fully functional, it fires and it could be taken from dead enemy.

How do you move your camera view around in the Editor?

you need to press F5 button (Edit mode), then spacebar and you move forward by pressing left mouse button and backward by pressing the right mouse button and you look around moving your mouse. In addition you can lock the camera view on a certain spot by pressing F8 (this is useful in Game mode - F6). With the mouse roll button you could select the camera moving speed (accelerate or decelerate).

Re: Replacing weapons in H&D Deluxe
It is nice what you can do with the inventory.
I made also a medipack based on a mine that makes negative damage :)
But sadly there can only be 64 Items :(
I recommend to turn off the Collisons (Shift+F7) when move around in the editor, this is more comfortable.

it is a nice idea. I personally added few weapons to the inventory, to use them in my edited mission (like Mauser K98 carbine form FFF expansion). I also edited two weapons (BAR 1918 and Bazooka) because they were unrealistic. I changed the fuse of the German grenade ("potato masher") to a time fuse - as it was in real life. The magazine capacity, weapons weights, descriptions and inventory icons could be also changed (as i did some time ago).
