campaign films

Unread post by Capt. Stirling » Mon Jan 03, 2011 10:12 pm

Where would the code be for triggering the films? Is it possible to mod the films to appear before different missions? Not the in-game sequences of course.

Thanks

Do you mean the mission briefings? Rather than the in-game cutscenes?

No I mean the films like Russians attacking, Before the Action, Captured in Libya etc. I know where the BIK files are located for the actual vids but I was wondering if its possible to edit when they are shown.

Case in point, have the Before the Action vid cue for the start of the Liberator operation. I'd like to redo the dialogue between the Executive and Captain Stearing to outline details for the Czech op. Editing the movie and sound files is easy. I want to edit to the cues. You know, you click Billable Entry and then the Before the Action scene plays.

So I've downloaded the RAD tools video converter and I can view the movies. So would the instruction code for their placement/sequencing in the game be located in the script files?

Most likely, I suppose to change the order you could rename the video you want to play the name of the video that currently plays -  if that makes sense :|

Yes it does makes sense. I had thought to do that but could you go one further... It seems based on the texty files that intro films for the Czech, North African, etc campaigns and even an intermezzo were meant to be placed there.

Offer your views please as I am going to see if I can actually rearrange the cut-scenes so that they appear at times that I designate. For example, triggering the Before the Action sequence to appear as the opening Czech sequence or something like that. RAD tools also allows me to convert the BIK's to avi's, etc for further editing. Most of the films are fine as they are but it is something I'd like to play with.

I'll have a look through the scripts and see what I can do  thup01

Just come across this, dunno if it means anything.
Extract "others" & go to the gamedata folder & have a look at "Gamedata00.gdt"
