Editing the looks of items in H&D 2

I have seen numerous people editing the looks of their flags, like from British to their own custom flag, and I think almost everyone has seen the edited panzerfaust that is desert coloured instead of green which is the genuine colour of the panzerfaust. does anyone kno how to do it? it would be a great help.
