I was just wondering. Is anyone in here going to get Battlefield 2 for it's release?

Personally me and the clan [Butcher & Bolt] are going to join this community.

I'll buy it, play it and enjoy it.

But not for very long.
It's all a bit too respawny to hold my attention for more than a couple of days.

I test played the game this evening at an event here in Denmark.

Boomtown and EA worked things out to make a tournament.

It's so fucking great. :D

I'll buy it of course, but I ask me whether it runs on my PC...
Will see after the demo

Must admit the demo did not do anything for me.... having played bf1942 and all its expansion packs plus its many mods! i wasn't expecting many new surprises in bf2....i think it is quite simply a "souped up" version of the classic mod "desert combat" with a few tweaks thrown in! two nice touches though....one being the "iron sights" which adds realism like our beloved HD2.....and secondly .....shouting for a medic when you are "critically wounded" and if you are lucky enough...one will attend to you! if not.........back to respawn!!!!!! probably will buy it for the helicopter flying! but get bored after a week or two and then back to the trusty old HD2 and SS...

Okay...bought the game played it for a day or so! and i am completely gutted! about 9 maps in single player and about 11 maps in multiplayer! and only 16 bots in singleplayer! so the singleplayer is a complete waste of time! and because of the lack of maps in multiplayer and the distinct lack of modes ( just one mode) brings me to the conclusion that this game has absolutely no content whatsoever! and just to piss me off even more.......a lot of gamers on multiplayer seem quite happy to just bunny hop all over the maps! how i missed all that on bf1942....NOT! nice graphics and squad tactics (if they get used) but too many bunny hoppers and very few maps! very poor!

Just a heads up on a great mod for battlefield 2 that might make you consider playing the game again.

The mod is called project reality and is actually nothing like the original game. As the title indicates, it aims to be a simulation of actual war and does a very good job at it.

I see what you mean... Thanks for telling us because I was thinking of buying it but now I'll stay away. Well most sequels are like that. A quick and easy way to make money. H&D 2 was the exception, along with Half-Life 2, Commandos 2 and a few more games.
