I see someone else voted but they didn't state why.

I thought you would have picked COD:WAW (aka COD5) for the zombies. fingers01 Anyway, I'd also be interested in your views since I know you have also played COD2 and COD5.

¿Have you done the "Black Ops" or any of the "Modern Warfare" releases? :?:

I have only done the WW2 releases (COD1, UO expansion, COD2, & COD 5. Since I enjoy Pacific War stuff I might have leaned towards COD5; but I really disliked the the campaign mechanics in that release. COD1, UO, and COD2 had three campaigns (US, UK, & Soviet) and let you play through each campaign straight through. COD5, however, only had a Soviet and USMC campaign and they jumped back and forth between the two. That ruined the game play for me since I disliked the Soviet campaign. I'd be "enjoying" myself in the Pacific and then boom ... and have some crazy guy screaming overboard patriotic rhetoric. I wish there was a way to have played the USMC campaign straight through.

¿Was it just me or did "Enemy at the Gates" appear to have a big influence on the COD teams (i.e., the river crossing scene in COD1, crawling through the pipes in COD2, the fountain scene at the beginning of COD5.)? :?:

@Lars
Yeah, I have heard some very good comments about COD 4 but the game received a lot of criticism for its terribly short campaign. I guess you prefer multiplayer oriented games huh? I think it can't really match Counter Strike Source though. Valve always has had the upper hand when it comes to multiplayer. What do you think?

I'm jealous that some of the WW2 campaigns never made it PC. :cry:

Do you still have COD2?

There a Spanish mod called "1936 España en Llamas" (Spain in Flames) based on the Spanish Civil War. It is a remake of the mod originally released for Medal of Honor: Breakthrough and it is now in the process of being converted to COD WAW (COD5).

I like the new call of duty games well enough as a few hours long single player experience. I hate call of duty multiplayer, and the stories in the new games are good.

The old game was one of the best WW2 fps games I got around to playing however. So I voted for the first one. Never played number 2 or most of the others.

How much did you actually play? Did you play United Offensive?

I only tried MP in the games that I've actually played of course. So that's the extend of it, I'm afraid. Not much of a gamer here. But I disliked it so far. United whatsitsface any good? Any different even?

Yes it is great... it was made by a different developer, and it shows. There is a multiplayer mode that makes UO shine.

:shock: I'm shocked you like it, but is it historically accurate!?
