I wouldn't call it a total rip-off, its set at a different time, with a different storyline. There are one or two similarities though.
Looks like it could be a good game, even if you do play as an American again!

Just look at those screenshots, very similar style to OFP. It's also America vs Russia, as is Flashpoint. How are they going to make it different? It's exactly the same concept, with more or less the same weapons and hardware. Just a different setting, fancier graphics, a different developer, and a hideous crosshair.

Yeah it is somewhat similar but as long as its a good game, and I think its will I don't really mind.
Its set in 2010 so we should get some differnt toys to play with and it has some different settings, like Britain for example- I don't think I've ever played a game set on British soil. Destructable terrain should add a new element to it, although as you said that is just a graphical improvement.
I'd much rather it wasn't America VS Russia (getting to chose you're nationality would be far better, or at least getting to play as other NATO troops)again but what can you do?
And yes that crosshair is hideous. :?

It's still using the Mafia engine, so it will be a lot smaller maps than Operation Flashpoint.
I too would prefer not to be cast as an American.
I'd prefer to play the single player from the Russian side than from the Americans.
I'm sorry, even if Americans were currently fashionable, I've still played too many games from this viewpoint for it to be novel. And i still fancy inserting my squad via Hind. And having it available as squad support.
I think a few options to choose from as in Joint operations and to some extent Hidden and Dangerous would go along way to inspiring the multiplayer community.
From a purely sales point of view, one representative soldier from every country you wish to sell the game in, complete with correct uniform and weapon system option.
I hope that they have learn't their lesson and co-op is not so ignored this time.
Feature requests for me, include fixable bayonets, gun jams and co-op campaigns. If there is to be destructable terrain then I would like to see the inclusion of an entrenching tool.

nice screenshots but also in total agreement about the crappy crosshairs!!! such little things can spoil a game! Iron sights by any chance??? if not then its not for me!

This game is just an excuse to make more money off the US market. The story line is boring. The game looks nice but that won't last unless they plan to release an editor with the game.

They have Atari backing them up, so maybe an editor will be included this time around. Maybe we can turn these levels into H&D2 VTM maps..

Set in 2010 and still using A2s? I dont buy it...
Im hoping by 2010 we will have integrated the M8, and any1 still using an M16 will be using the A4...

Enemy in Sight has nothing to do with Operation Flashpoint, except that it's a rip off of the idea. That article says the game is a copy of Flashpoint, or at least, that's my translation of it.
Operation Flashpoint was developed by Bohemia Interactive Studios, another Czech company, so you can see why they like it. And it's a great game. 8)
