need help with internet conection

i hope that there is still someone tha palys  this "old school" but very cool game...
well i have a quite recent computer and routor between my PC and the modem so i have no idea how to configure an internet session in HDD between me and my friend

exaclly i dont know what ip adress i must to put in (adress in host PC
                                                                                adresses in client PCs   
                                           
                                                                                and what adresses : ip of modem , ip of PC in home network given by the routor,...
                                                                                and last thing which port)
