Re: Multplayer issues
Hi and Welcome to the forums, What operating system are you running?
There are known issues with Vista run servers, if one of your friends is running XP then let them host.

He is playing deluxe and not hd2 .. so hosting shouldn't make an problem.
Easiest way for you is to install an free VPN http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_private_network and connect and play over that.
If you don't want to connect over that .. have both of you configured the multiplayer menue to tcp/ip and have one of you entered the ip of the hostplayer?

Re: Multplayer issues
we both have tcp/ip but nobody is able too host, both computers say "unable to initsialize network conection"
Re: Multplayer issues
Might be a problem with this new updated TCP protocol.
Try to get it working with the VPN that should work

Re: Multplayer issues
Lars, Any chance you could write us a quick step by step guide to get it working with a VPN ?
Re: Multplayer issues
Nope its easy to use .. download hamachi and install it .. than connect to the virtuell network and start the game .. instead of internet game you choose than list lan games
Re: Multplayer issues
yep, i have hamatchi, and still im unable to host
its not a problem where nobody can connect to me, im actualy completely unable to host a network game on any of the computers i use

Re: Multplayer issues
Hm maybe your router is realy blocking it. Try to enable the dmz for your server ip.
And oh its even not possible to play in the lan with your computers?

Re: Multplayer issues
Do you have problems with other games or just H&D2?
Re: Multplayer issues
I hope you will pardon me for resurrecting a topic that is a bit old, but I have this same problem. Other games run fine.

Re: Multplayer issues
No worries. H&D Deluxe has issues with hosting a game on Vista and Windows 7, what operating system are you using? It's best to host with Windows XP if you can.
