OK Myron.

Like you requested in your latest PM i set the Lancaster bomber in the Danube 5 mission to arrive sooner (the landing procedure will start after about 60 seconds versus previously 90 seconds) still during enemy's attack. :cool:

Please download and test this newest Danube 5 mission update.

Like you requested in your latest PM i delayed all scripted time sequences in the Danube 5 mission by 30 seconds. thup01

Hopefully this is the last change in the Danube 5 mission, because now i want to focus on modding the Italy 1 mission (which i recently started to modify). :roll:

Hello Myron.

I made recently few changes in the Italy 1 mission:

-> i removed the brick wall that was located close to the mission start point by default (see picture below);

-> i removed the Opel truck plus i placed 2 friendly partisans to a more appropriate spot (see picture below);

-> now if even one of the 2 partisans die the mission will be failed (watch out where you aim);

-> static collisions optimized;

-> small bugs fixed;

-> tactical map updated;

-> few trees removed;

-> high voltage poles and lines removed.

I plan to make more changes to the Italy 1 mission. There is still a lot of work to do...

Beside previously implemented changes i added few new ones into Italy 1 mission:

- video briefing edited (repositioned start location and meeting point markings to more appropriate spots);

- removed unnecessary ambient sounds plus made some too loud sounds quieter;

- turned off (removed) the lights from lamps on both ends of the railway bridge (it was ordered to introduce blackout as a security measure);

- removed most of the rocks from both sides of the river;

- removed the patrol boat (the river current is too strong for the boat to stay in place plus the boat is too big to be able to sail under the railway bridge);

- added trees near the meeting point location (so that partisans can hide behind them);

- more dense checkpoint grid to make the AI easier to navigate.

Below is a list of subsequent changes made to the Italy 1 mission:

-> added 2 AA-guns positions (one on each of the riverbank next to a wooden guard house);

-> added MG tower;

-> added enemy sniper on the hill close to the abandoned quarry;

-> added enemies that will spawn from each of the wooden guard house when specific situations occur;

-> slightly re-positioned 2 wooden guard houses;

-> added 2 stationary bridge guards (one at each end of the railway bridge);

-> tactical map updated.

More changes in the Italy 1 mission:

-> removed the German halftrack with crew from the right riverbank;

-> added a machine-gun nest position on the right riverbank (with additional equipment - a box of "potato masher" grenades);

-> added enemy patrol (consisting of 2 men) on the right riverbank (both soldiers will patrol the area between machine-gun nest and abandoned quarry).

I played my updated Italy 1 mission few times and i implemented few changes as result (to fix bugs and make the gameplay more balanced):

-> optimized patrol routes of enemy soldiers on the railway bridge and on the right riverbank;

-> increased reaction skill of enemy soldiers (still the enemy could be ambushed, but cannot be underestimated anymore);

-> increased view range of enemy soldiers (still the player is able to detect and kill enemies first, but must be more vigilant);

-> enemies that spawn from wooden guard houses are now armed with MP40s (instead of Mauser K98 non-scoped rifles);

-> added an Opel Blitz truck on the right riverbank with fuel and 2 enemy soldiers inside armed with Mauser K98 non-scoped rifles (see picture below taken from HDD Editor).


Please download and test the attached Italy 1 mission again. Please give me later some feedback!

I edited the Opel Blitz truck collision volumes in the Italy 1 mission, so now the enemy soldiers in the truck's cargo space are more vulnerable to gunfire (not only their arms like before). thup01

Assuming that the modifying of the Italy 1 mission is over i looked into the Italy 2 mission.

This is a list of changes I've made so far in the Italy 2 mission:

-> optimized enemy patrols routes;

-> reorganized enemy patrols in the underground (there are total of 3 men, each of which patrols a specific area - each soldier equipped with MP40);

-> increased reaction skill of some enemy soldiers (both stationary guards and patrolling ones);

-> optimized checkpoint grid to make the AI easier to navigate;

-> sky edited (now the clouds are moving with more reasonable speed);

-> small bugs fixed.


Please download and test this newest Italy 2 mission update. If you have any suggestions for additional changes please let me know accordingly.

Please download also my newest data.dta update (a small correction in the text file - got rid of an unwanted error message; a leftover after changing the default order of campaigns).

Below is a list of subsequent changes made to the Italy 2 mission:

-> replaced 2 stationary guards in the refinery complex with 3 "prison guards" mentioned by the instructor in the video briefing (see picture below);

-> replaced 3 underground guards of N.C.O. rank equipped with MP40s with 3 "engineers" equipped with Luger pistols (see picture below);

-> fixed the problem of bullets passing through the ground (unlucky SAS soldier hit by MG tower fire);

-> increased the reaction skill of enemy soldiers;

-> locomotive removed.

I gotta wonder, how many other people are enjoying this mass-overhaul?

As I type this, I see that two guests are here with me.
And Jakub's last mission release, Italy 2, has been downloaded 21 times! :)
