Unluckily there is a bug somewhere that rarely causes a crash during gameplay. I am not sure what it is, maybe it belongs to the bullet holes.

Maybe the crash log gives You some informations about the cause of the CTD?
In what particular situation the crash occurs? During the map loading?

Yes it shows me an error about rendering.
The bullet holes get linked to the object on that was the hit. I made now a check if this object exists.
HD crashes so far only if a object is called which does not exist.

It's not the bullet holes. It is the new AI function, i could now reproduce it in greece4. Somehow it always crashes when the function is turned on in that map. I will do more tests tomorrow.

Hopefully you will soon fix that problem.
I have few questions regarding bullet holes if you don't mind NilsZ:
1) after what time the bullet holes dissapear in game?
2) is there a max number of bullets holes renderable at a given time?
3) do they have any impact on game's performance?
4) on what surfaces they are visible?
5) can we turn on/off bullet holes in the HDD editor?

I found one more problem while testing a snow map. The bullet holes share their disappear time with the foot steps.
I played norway4 and wondered why there were so much rows around the entry. After that i looked in the sources and found out that foot steps are also "bullet hole actors".
1) Default 7 secs. I made 30 minutes.

What do you mean, that the bullet holes are visible also on volumes?
By default collision volumes are invisible in the game itself - only renderable in HDD editor. The problem is, that some collision volumes types like Box, Sphere and Rectangle don't match the visual precisely. I hope, that the bullet holes are not visible on empty space (hanging out in the air) or on "Border" collision volumes.

No it only affects solid volumes, that have no visual behind them. If a visual is behind it, the bullet hole will be adjusted on the visual.
Yet i couldn't fix the crash, but I think I will release it anyway with this option disabled by default until it is fixed.

OK guys, I just decided to release 1.4 without that new AI feature (investigate for corpses) because its buggy at the moment.
Anyway a bunch of new changes caused by the new engine that i made:
new cheats:
laracroft - turns you into a pretty lara croft model
debugvolumes - shows you solid airboxes
bluestars - turns the game into censored version (can be disabled by entering the cheat again)
killthemall - kills all enemies, not civilians or friends
fillfuel - fills the car's tank that your are sitting in
superman - sneaking becomes speed hack and jumping is very high (can be disabled by entering the cheat again)
hippie - enemies become friends, war is over :). Doesn't work for enemies that have spotted you.
riot - everyone will attack his mates (except player AI)
AI has been improved (features must be enabled in editor):
they can investigate for corpses
they can take cover if hearing a shot
they can hunt if hearing a shot
they can use grenades and knives correctly
Rapid fire bug is fixed
bullet holes are visible now
Soldiers have different faces again (only partially working)
Humans can be split by explosions again
weapons are shaking now sight when firing
weapons have individual spray factors
silenced weapons enabled
new icons for the executables
the game supports now up to 1024 different weapons (important for modders)
Aim line is disabled
You must now change the data and the bin folder due to new engine.
