I want to replace the default H&D Deluxe ending cinematic with the one used in the FFF expansion. It would make more sense after the Greek campaign is over.

I will need to extract some original FFF files first using the H&D Data EX software.

Much to my surprise all the scene files inside the missions.dta archive are in .3ds format instead of .i3d. :shock:

NilsZ, is it possible to have BOTH ending cinematics? :)

I was hoping one could play after Prague 2, since Germans have surrendered, and then the FFF one plays at the end of Greece 4.

HD1 uses a complete different set of files: 3DS instead of I3D, BMP instead of PNG, WAV instead of OGG. They changed all formats for better compression.
HD Deluxe can still open the old files, but 3ds need to be renamed with i3d ending.

I recommend to look around the archives from HD1. There is many unsused stuff like a bear model and cat sounds :mrgreen:

As far as i know only one of the ending cinematics could have text displayed in it. Maybe i am wrong. NilsZ will know that for sure.

My vanilla outro plays fine, the surrender epilogue plays just fine. And I saw how your FFF outro plays fine with it's dialogue. What happens that makes the writing vanish?

Only one of the ending cinematics could have text displayed. This is determined by a text config file inside the data.dta archive. The ending cinematic after the Prague campaign works just like i.e. the cinematic after the Poland 1 mission.

I have got an idea for a workaround. We could copy the texts in 3ds max and make a model of it that is sliding down like the original text and place it in front of the camera.
But wouldn't it be strange to have the same ending text 2 times? I think better would be "this were there original campaign series from Hidden and Dangerous, now Fight for Freedom is following"

Your last quoted sentence cannot be used in my mod, since i changed the default campaign order to reflect the timeline.

I found another solution: i added an audio track with original radio broadcast about the end of WW2 in Europe into the ending cinematics that plays after the Prague campaign. :mrgreen:

Well, i am rather done with the changes regarding both ending cinematics. Either than adding an Allied warship in the background of the Greek campaign ending cinematics i have no more ideas for changes.

Hey NilsZ, have you found a way to make everyone have their own faces?

I found that in the Faces folder, there are many faces, not the few that seem to get repeatedly used; for example, all the SAS have the same "thick mustache and war-paint" face instead of the one based on their characters as it was in the vanilla game.
