my "primary goal" is to have a side view for sniper rifles. Then you don't have to carry two guns around.

For MGs i thought about a little zoom like 20% when you go to iron sight and no zoom in side view. Of course the little cross can be removed due to realism (maybe depending on difficulty, easy have cross, medium and hard not).

btw. a funny idea would be to make hard difficulty like ultra realism in left 4 dead. No HUD, no crosses, etc.. What do you think about that?
Hmm, side view with sniper rifles. Well, sniper rifles in WW2 were mostly hand-picked standard bolt action rifles with exceptional production quality (accuracy, etc) later equipped with optics. Some of them had removable scope mounts, so they could act like typical bolt-action rifles with iron sights in emergency situations (i.e. scope gets damaged, etc). So your idea of side view for sniper rifle makes sense in this case.

I don't know if adding a zoom option wouldn't be too OP for machine guns. I don't like such magical zoom in video games myself. As for aim cross i wouldn't remove it - you can always turn it off in options anyway.

As for increasing the difficulty - you might consider to add a key command that when pressed turns off the HUD, etc instead if possible.

OK. Back to the business.

I edited the aim view for the remaining handguns in my mod: Webley revolver, Tokarev and Welrod pistols. You can also use their iron sights and aim cross in the same time to aim more precisely while in prone position.

See pictures below.

I also made a more realistic PIAT aim model - the sights are also properly aligned with aim cross when it's enabled.

To aim the PIAT you need to point the front sight tip towards the target.

After making a new Lee Enfield rifle iron sights view some time ago i continued my work with other bolt-action rifles from my mod.

I must admit, that the Carcano rifle looks a bit low quality and rusted up close, but the model is what it is unfortunately. It was hard for me to find free, 3d and good looking model of that rifle on the Internet in order to use in H&D Deluxe. At least the iron sights works as they should. Fortunatelly, the remaining two bolt-action rifles that i edited look way better in iron sights mode in my opinion. Those are K98 Mauser and Mosin-Nagant. See pictures below.

Thanks for the feedback mr.47! thup01

Today i have time and willingness to make more modifications to custom weapons from the H&D Deluxe Ultimate Mod. ;)

Last 2 bolt-action rifles / carbines from my inventory list that i converted to use iron sights are De Lisle CC and Arisaka Type 99.

See pictures below.

Next category of weapons from my mod that i converted to use iron sights are semi-automatic rifles/carbines. Those are M1 Garand and M1 Carbine.

See pictures below.

I think, that for now those are the final modifications, i need to take some break. Next weekend i am going abroad for vacation for some time, so i might be less active on H&D forums. We will see.

Well I'm OK with that but didn't you make the m1garand bolt action in the game editor ?

Asking if you turned it automatic with some delay as the old game sniper rifle because according to history it doesn't work the way it's in the game and more logically is to change it to suit the realism to make all your work be the cherry on the top

I didn't make the M1 Garand bolt-action in the game editor.

Indeed each shot is delayed, somewhat similar like in the original M1 Carbine from Fight for Freedom expansion.

For balance purposes i didn't want to make semi-automatic guns too OP, but still their rate of fire should be higher than bolt-action rifles.

There was a technique used by British soldiers called "Mad Minute" back in the day, when they shot Lee Enfields very fast and according to stories Germans thought that they were under machine-gun fire instead. As you see, little nuances like that are hard to implement into such old game with mechanics limitations. I needed to make some trade-offs for H&D Deluxe weapons.

Thanks for your feedback of course.

For those who are interested (and for me to have a backup of modded files somewhere else than my hard drive) i share new iron sights view for the following weapons:

- PIAT;

- Colt 1911, Luger, Tokarev TT33, Webley revolver, Welrod pistol;

- Lee Enfield, K98 Mauser, Carcano, Mosin-Nagant, Arisaka Type 99;

- De Lisle, M1 Carbine, M1 Garand.

Unpack the models.mod.rar archive to your root H&D Deluxe directory (i.e. C:\Program Files\Take2\Hidden and Dangerous Deluxe) and replace files when asked to. Make a backup of your models.mod folder just in case. Those modded files attached below are compatible with H&D Deluxe Ultimate Mod 2.1 version. Enjoy!

amazing how good you posed the iron sights. My tests look like your first try where you see the complete gun in front of you. I have to check your files to see how you made it :)

Thanks NilsZ.

Your help was also important regarding the info about pivot point placement on gun's visual. That knowledge was crucial plus the ability to reposition pivot points in 3ds max.

I decided to further update the aim model of the Colt 1911 pistol based on the default model from H&D Deluxe.

Now the aiming is more realistic and precise with iron sights lined up and there is no need to use the aim cross at the same time.

I will try to update also the rest of my handguns when time allows.

See picture below.

EDIT: I also updated Luger and Webley aim models.

The next category of weapons that i edited was assault rifles / automatic rifles. This include MP-44, BAR 1918 and FG-42.

See pictures below.

Due to the limitations of the FG-42 model itself (the buttstock gets into the aim view), the iron sights are not aligned horizontally. In order to aim you need to point the front sight towards your target to hit it. Anyway, i think that this is a decent trade-off versus the side view aiming in 1st person mode.
