maybe someone can shed some light on this...

basically i got the IP address of my computer from the router and had my friend try to connect to my pc, now he can see the game in the list using my ip gettin bout 40 ping, but when he tries to join he gets the cant connect to server error.

hes patched up same as me, got all maps n such, dont get if he can see the game why cant he join.

Perhaps not enough ports are open. Try putting the server in the DMZ (in the router) or opening a larger range of ports.

Probably only one port is used to get server information.

hm so go thru my router settings an mess with some stuff then lol, i couldnt find nething about opening ports, then again i dont know what im lookin for so i think ill have to phone my isp..

any other suggestions would be appreciated in the meantime thx

Well, you'll need ports 11001, 11002 and 11003 open for sure. Open the ports for UDP (and TCP just to be safe).
