Extra items for servers

Unread post by crusti » Sun Mar 13, 2005 2:43 pm

hello people,
i was going to write an MPMAPLIST item editor,
but i got attacked by a virus and lost all my workings, item list and all my VB files (about 6 weeks of works, just the gui left to do)

so here goes with a basic explantion of what to do

go in you H&D2 folder and find a file called TEXT, open it and look for your language, open that and look for TEXTY and TEXT_DD (for extras fromSS), these are full of numbers and descriptions
most number you can just drop the first number so 1024 will be 024
if you wanted to add a sniper rilfe to coop, look for sniper rifle in the list`s, (enfield optic = 1017 , so use 017 , note a few items dont have use this system, just experiment)

now open your mpamplist (found in H&D2 folder)
study how it looks

its very easy to understand , just read through it a few times (it will help you later on if you can remember the order of things)

find the coop gamestyle, then search until you find the map name you want and youll see the lines of texts

example

then just copyand paste a line and change item id to 17,

example

and save file TADA, it should work

just experiment , if you cant get it working after a few goes, then give up, (youre just not up to the job so dont keep bugging ppl LOL i wont mention any names ,there are some ppl i am very happy to do it for)

once you have that mastered, you could than try swapping gamestyles and maps, copy objectives to other maps, theres lots of possibilities so have fun and be creatative

maybe its a bit to rough for guide but its all in there somewhere

using the wrong numbers will crash server and sometimes PC, so please try it out on your own first or with a few mates, just in case
some iniforms will crash (such as 232, lumber jack) you could try them out as VIP in objectives, most of them work ok there
i might post a full itemlist later, if i can be bothered to go through it all again

crusti ?NR?

ps, if anybody finds something wrong in this text, then put it on the forum, do not contact me, my msn keeps giving me probs and thats how i think i pick up the virus

k yea  VIP uniforms can be ANY of the uniforms . including underwear if you dont put a number in the VIP uniform id. however, there is a way toe get all the uniforms to work on other maps that dont have VIPs such as occupation or deathmatch, and supposedly you need a "unpacker " to do this. i have no idea what to do, and im open to suggestion
