Resintall on XP, won't run :-(

Hi All,

Coming back to this great game after a long while. Installed on an XP box -

Win XP 2002, SP3
4GB memory
2 Intel Q6600 @ 2.4GHz

ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro - running a dual monitor setup.
VRAM: 256MB
Driver version: 6.14.10.7171

No errors while installing. Start HD2, nothing happens on-screen. CPU pegged at 25% looking at Task Manager. Tried all resolutions - I do see the main monitor change resolution on fire-up based upon what I choose in HD2 Setup.exe.

Any help is greatly appreciated...

I seem to be getting the same issue, all of a sudden.

I was happily playing H+D a few months ago, but now all I get is the LS3D window pop up for a second and then disappear.

Then...nothing.

I recently installed Service Pack 3 because Microsoft insisted that it was on my PC before I installed Office 2010.

But I reverted my PC back to a restore point before I installed SP3 and still H+D wouldn't work.

I'd love to get it going again, as I only started playing Sabre Squadron.

So, I found a workaround.

Go to \Program Files\Illusion Softworks\Hidden & Dangerous 2

and click the setup.exe. Choose "autodetect", then "save and exit".

The game plays for me now.
