Run H&D 2 under OpenGL

Unread post by shrekdj » Thu Nov 10, 2011 12:33 pm

Is it possible to play the game in OpenGL rather Direct X? I tried to append ~opengl in the executable but nothing sort of any change is sought. Also, does the game support OpenGL?...I want to play under OpenGL since many other games run smoothly and do not lag esp. War of Warcraft.
Any ideas on how to tweak the game for OpenGL? :|

H&D2 or Mafia (LS3D engine) doesn't support OpenGL, as you can see from this Q&A with Denis Cerny (lead LS3D engine programmer): http://home.pages.at/hidden-and-dangerous/hd2qa.htm (Q&A's compiled at Lar's website) thup01
Q- Why doesn`t the engine support OpenGl?
A- It is not necesary and time is money.

So why is there an NVidia logo animation at the begining of both games, i thought NVidia's primary driver was OpenGL. The only game i have mangaed to use OpenGL in is DeusEx.

Cause they spend money to show their logo .. Nvidea uses since the Riva 128 (NV3) DirectX and Open GL. Deus Ex (the first one) should used the first Unreal Engine .. and than it has supported Direct X, Open GL, S3 Metal, Software Rendering and glide from 3dfx. That where at the times at the games has made much more fun as in these days
