Right..here's the scoop.
I bought H&D2 and was installing it. When the install reached 100% it slammed me with an error msg saying that the sounds.dta file on cd 2 was corrupt. Therefore in order to complete the install fully I need a new data2.cab file (which contains the sounds.dta file). So I was just wondering if there was anyone nice enough out there to actually help me get this file or maybe advice me on something to do. btw just to note I have already tried a million things so please respond by saying "oohh did you try cleaning the cd".
anyway if you have the file and you are willing to get it to me somehow please msg me :D

Well, if you bought the game, you should be able to replace the game to a working version from the store you bought it from.

did you try to clean the cd?

anyways, me and some mates all got the game, and when installing evilbean got this problem using hes own cd's same error youre talking about, so he keeps borrowing mine. as long as he sticks to hes own cd key everything is in order...
so iam afraid you have to A. download bin. / iso. files of the cd 's
B. aquire a new set of cds....

bugs everywere....

I know that lol hehe what I need is helllllp :D I've used every program there is to image the cd but none work. The error message that comes up is cyclic redundancy error (CRC) which basically means that the error that was sent from origination (the cd) is corrupted in some way when the verifier cannot verify it properly. This can occur due to a number og reasons, ranging from the idiot using the system ejected the cd in progress (NOT the case here) to the data on the cd being corrupted. Seeing as I've done almost everything to try and fix this problem I have come to the conclusion that I need a new either whole cd 2 image file (of any kind) og a new data2.cab file. So what I'm asking is: Anyone willling to help me get one?? :D

Take it/send it back to whoever you bought it from and get a replacement.

if you can edit the install script to skip over the bit where it fails to install the sound file(s), then try and add one of the sound mods available at the front of this site, then maybe you could get game working.

but do take cd back, and let them know that its not acceptable to have a poor quality disc, otherwise we will all end up buying poor quality discs

i too have old games that dont run anymore, and it will keep happening unless people complain about the quality of the media

however just as I got the stuff that i needed to get the game going my motherboard burnt down and my BRAND SPANKING NEW computer needs a new motherboard ..anyways maybe I'll see u online after easter might get ur arses whooped

several times suggested to take it back to the store , met with resistance of Tablett.

Maybe it is not an original afterall but a copied version?
