Installation error "Sounds.dta"

So after several years, I found H&D2 again. Obviously, I wanted to start playing asap seeing this was/is the best war game I've ever played on my computer. I'm using Windows 7, and the installation goes perfect until 53%. It says:
Error blabla reading from file C:\Program blabla ... Sounds.dta. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.
I've probably searched the entire internet but I just don't get it. I've seen people saying that it should work perfectly on Windows 7 so yeah.. I'm getting kinda desperate. Especially since my knowledge about computers is pathetic, I'm not a diehard gamer, I'd just love to start playing this game again The multiplayer was awesome.
If anyone could help me, it'd be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
A computer-noob
(btw, English is my third language so I might have trouble understanding difficult computer language, just saying )
EDIT: After cancelling the installation, a message pops up saying there was a fatal error. It tells me to consult Windows Installer Help or MSDN for more information. But I have no idea what it means and would prefer not to screw up my computer by doing stupid stuff which I don't understand..
