BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!

Unread post by Talbot » Sun Mar 25, 2007 11:33 pm

Running:

Windows Vista 32 Bit
2x1024MB DDR2 PC8500 RAM
Nvidia GF 8800 GTX 768MB (Not overclocked) (Drivers - 101.41)
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.67Ghz (Not overclocked)
Creative SB X-FI Soundcard
ASUS Striker Extreme Motherboard

I was dubious about installing H&D2/SS on this machine but I gave it a go and had no immediate problems.  I had by this point managed to play a few MP games and then downloaded Jason's Profile. Skipped straight to the Czech 4 level and had a play around. Shot about 10 enemies then switched to the character with an MP44, shot a couple with him and just as I was about to pull the trigger on another distant figure, everything froze and then went to the 'Blue Screen of Death'.

Here are some details Vista gave me about the problem:

Ring any bells? Too scared to load up H&D2 again now.

Vista breaks games! Vista finds a way!
Eight, 8, the burning eight; between Sunday and Monday exists a day so great, it will devastate.

The problem appears to have gone away, I remember it did the same thing with XP years ago.
