C2M3 "Sitting Duck" stuck

I found out why one can get stuck in this Operation: :idea:

Shortly after killing the first DAK soldiers you'll notice a soldier patrolling midway inbetween the plane wreck and the flak truck.
From that distance you WON't be succesfull with a snipergun! You'll wound him, and he runs towards the dune hilltop and fires a warning flare (for who ??).
If this happens, it is useless continuing this game as in the end the "mission accomplished" message will not appear. :shock:

You'll have to sneak closer (towards the flaktruck) and kill him first before the flaktruck gunner and his helpers.

Well that has never happened to me and the flare gun dude :evil: always sets it off......must be something else.....thats if there even is a problem :shock:

So you got to see the flare and did all the other necessary things and still got to the next mission ?
Hmm.
and i thought I had discovered the "bug".

Well, the other difference with my stuck mission before is that in the succesfull one I didnot blew up a single truck/jeep/kubelwagen/flaktruck.
Maybe that's it ? :?

Ive played this mission a tone of times single and coop... and never ever had any glitches what so ever.... :shock: and yes most of the time i blow the AA truck up. I think it might be a 1 time thing with your computer having a small problem with something... or has it happened more than once?? if so probably something to do with bad install.

P.S how does it not finish do you not get to drive off or in coop not get to met the jeeps??

That's a bit odd.

Every time I see that flare shot off, I can complete the mission just fine. I had always assumed that if the guy got the flare off, then the Panzers should show up.

Shooting the guy with the flare or not doesn't seem to really do anything :? Any one notice any difference?

Yeah now that AK said that it makes sense. When the flare is fired the pazer, which starts on the top of the hill to the left comes down and patrols the town..... or maybe not but it makes sense i think :roll:

Although the PzKpfw might just come down into Mudhut-ville all the same. I'll take a closer look at it this time, and see if I can't alter my tactics for that mission while I'm at it.

I have tried it several times, but i notice no difference between the flare being shot and the flare not being shot. Sniping or running him over works best for me as ways how to kill him.
In both instances the Panzer appears,and in both instances I can finish the mission regularly. One time, however, I saw an answer flare being shot some distance away, from the direction 'behind' the village. It didn't change anything in the course of the mission and I haven't seen it since (having replayed the missionseveral times)

They worked better in H&D1 and were put to better use, IMO :)

I did mean Iv never seen the flare on that mission used by ai, not in general... :lol:

This flare gun is for signaling and in HD/D it was used for illumination...

I think they meant for it not to give you much light...

Yeah I know that but that's what I meant.

The missions and how the flares were used in the original was better. Like the mission "snow demon" when you are on the moutain edge and the AI fires up some flares and the other guards come running up the hill.

The swapped scripted scenes for letting the AI react how ever it wanted which was an attempt to give it more reply value but I don't think it did because the mission objectives never really change. They should have just made alternative scripted sequences like the first mission of H&D2 with the guide. I can't believe that was the only main time they did that.
