Does anyone know how I can destroy the two enemy tanks in this mission? I am playing the game in carnage mode, so I have to destroy them.

I hit them in the rear with a bazooka from the trenches. If you did not bring a bazooka, you can get a Panzerschreck in the ammo dump area inside the bunker complex. Don't forget to grab a few extra rounds. thup01

Okay, that was very helpful. Could you show me where this area with the Panzerschrek is located on the map? Say, take a screenshot and edit it with an image processing program? I have already put you in too much trouble so I am asking this as a favor

The area is inside the bunker complex next to where you set a charge to destroy the ammo store (optional objective). The three supply boxes from left to right are: Ammo, Dynamite, and Panzerschreck.

Too bad neither of these would have been around yet at the time of the mission. The versions that are in the game that is.

Vit, what version of the bazooka do they actually use in the H&D2? :?: The inventory selection says M1 Bazooka.

The reason I ask, if Chestnut is supposed to be part of Operation Husky ... I'd think the M1 Bazooka is possible since the invasion of Sicily was in mid-1943 and the M1 was fielded in North Africa in late-1942. We're in the midst of a move so my books are packed up but I recall reading that some M1A1's were also used in Sicily.

Were you maybe thinking about the M9? I think that was fielded in late 43 or so.

As for the Panzerschreck, I'll take your word since I am not that familiar on German weapons.

I agree the designers did take a few liberties as to weapons availability.

Take care... thup01

Well the models are not perfect, but the bazooka is small enough to be an M9/M9A1, but really looks like the M20; though the tube is still backwards and not long enough. The rocket used is undoubtedly based on an M28 used in the M20. With the rocket being used it has to be an M20 or at least one of the prototypes they were developing based on the M9A1 towards the end. It is possible a special unit like ours would have access to something like this for field testing, but not in July 1943. It would have been at the end of 1944 at the very earliest.

The developers most likely had an M20, or saw photos of an M20 and based it on that not knowing it was incorrect, as the sight in first person is that which would have been on the M1/M1A1.

As for the Panzerschreck, the model in game is even more haphazardly produced, they just used the bazooka skin and modified it slightly. With the blast shield though it has to be at least an RPzB 54, though matches the overall length of the RPzB 54/I, which also has a blast shield. In both cases the first of the two would not have been fielded for another two months, after the Italian surrender and still wouldn't have been exported to the Italians anyway.
