HD2 Upgrade

This game is still one of the best, but it desperately needs an upgrade. Recently, I've seen and played so many classic games that have been updated (X-Wing Alliance (XWAU), Tie Fighter (TFTC), Dark Forces, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2) and I'm excited for the upcoming upgrade of Deus Ex using the Unreal Engine.

My question is, is there anyone working on a similar graphics update? I don't know much about coding, but is it possible to upgrade the LS3D engine with the Unreal engine? I'm really want to play an upgraded version of this game, I'm willing to put in the time and learn how to do it if I can.
