Not so predictable AI

The AI in H&D2 often does that same thing over and over but every now and then they give you a suprise. I just had the SHIT scared out of me. I just installed H&D2 on my pc again after a long vacation from it. I put patch 1.03 on and off I went to give the original H&D2 a go before I installed Sabre Squadron. Naturally I played 'First Strike' the first mission. I came to the end where all I had to kill was the guard that hid in the building who stands on the stairs, easy enough.
I opened the door without being seen, I lent in and shot the guard. I go through the door thinking there is no more danger but sure enough a guard with a pistol comes out of no where and starts poping caps in my arse. I shit myself and fire my rifle which ofcourse only has 2 rounds left. I hit him twice but he's still coming at me!, I'm backing out of the door while crouched and I'm scrambling to re-load my rifle. He emerges out of the door, firing his pistol at me so with another shot I fire at his chest and the biatch goes down. Objective complete.
I love this game.
Is it just me, or is the Garand rifle extremely accurate while in 3rd person mode
, I love using it like this. You can just fire it in the general direction of the enemy and score a head shot. An enemy could be running at you with an mp40 firing and bang, down, always looks awesome when they are running and you hit'em... their body still moves forward, their helmet drops and rolls back... looks like Saving Private Ryan or something
Getting them in the neck... heard the sound effects for that? kinda sick
