This is for general discussion about Hidden & Dangerous 2, talk about what you liked or what you didn't like about the sequel. Talk about multiplayer games, setup matches etc.

OK, i downloaded both programs, thanks jakub :D
I am now installing HD2 after it was laying more than 10 years in a box. The game somehow disappointed me, so i never took a look again on it.
H&D1.3 has always been the best
It wasn't until Sabre Squadron that I was able to love H&D2, I regret being so hard on it back in the day but I was... 18?
Good work jakub

I imported the H&D 2 Norway map into the HDD editor with its original size and textures.
I got a couple of errors, but beside that the map works OK.
You could see the minesweeper. I wonder, where the second ship is. Probably a separate model added later into the map.
See pictures below.
STOP IT. Now I want to play around with it.
Last time I did, I was trying to get H&D Deluxe into Unity... got the character in there and it worked rather well but the animations weren't playing friendly.

I also downloaded 3ds Max 8 from Mod DB and it is working fine on both 32-bit and 64-bit OS for me. It is far less resource demanding than newer 3ds Max versions like 2017.
As i wrote in my previous post you could also try the Noesis program - it is not as advanced as 3ds Max 8, but still you could open 4ds models and export them to various file formats that could be later imported to 3ds Max.
If you need additional help how to run the 4ds plugin please let me know.

First of all you need to unpack the 4ds plugin to your 3ds max / scripts folder (see picture below).
Before importing a 4ds model into 3ds Max 8 you need first to open the script and specify the directory of your unpacked H&D 2 maps.dta archive (maps folder). See picture below.
Then you need to run the script by selecing Utilities (hammer icon) -> MAXScript -> Run Script and selecting 4ds_1.0.ms file. After that you could choose which particular 4ds model you want to import into 3ds Max. See picture below.
Imported model could be small, so you will need to zoom-in the view to see it.
