1.12 patch no cd ?

Reinstalled this great game recentley. I also installed it on my laptop. I seem to recall that the cd was not needed in the dick drive in the past, am I mistaken ?. I don't like to have to use  the cd with my laptop drive if I don't have too.

You'll have to download a no-cd patch from gamecopyworld.com to play without the cd

Depends on the laws of the country where you life. But in fact nearly all of us used them .. no matter what the laws said

Apparently 2k Czech think it's illegal to mod their games now as well (check the Mafia 2 forums/FAQ). Probably becuase it takes away from their DLC profits? However you need the no-cd  for H&D2 to work on Windows 7 it appears. Hacking and cracking has it's place, it's needed. Sadly the games industry is bigger than ever (profits and money) and that's when lawyers come in and fuck everything up for everyone.

I  tried the no cd exe, from the gamecopyworld site, but it did not work for me. I got an error "cannot find file  L3CD.dll" . I am able to run the game on my W7 64bit laptop with the cd in the drive.
I have not got around to a reinstall yet, I will later today, 4:30 am here, heading to work now.

So what's the specs of your desktop PC? a re-install should help by the sounds of it.
