setting up a dedicated server

hi,

im having a problem with setting up a dedicated server..
i create a server with standalone server program and everything seems to works fine..
only i cant see my server in the server list.
i already opend ports 11001-11004
i got a firewall: cisco pix 501

could someone help me?

You've opened TCP 27900 and 28900 as well?

I've opened:
TCP 11001 - 11020
UDP 11001 - 11020
With these ports forwarded it's working for me.
Guess UDP i don't need anyway..

Cisco is your router but you don't have also a firewall program running?
If, then you have to forward also the ports there. Or just turn it off.

i dont have a firewall program running.
but i got an other question..
if the udp ports 11001-11004 appear in the list when i run  my server,.. that means that they are open right?

No idea. Don't even know how you get there.  :mrgreen:

btw: On Vista and on Win7 creating dedicated server is anyway not working. Non-dedicated neither i guess.

You might check with an portscanner if the ports are realy open http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_scanner
