How do you know he is a bigot? I don't remember him expressing anything to lead me to believe it. For any reason what is wrong with being a bigot? We should all be bigots; if a person was raping your wife or daughter what would you do? Be tolerant of their lifestyle? I doubt it. Being tolerant of someone's beliefs that you whole heartedly disagree with is really disgusting; people burning bibles or peeing in holy water? Would you be tolerant of this lifestyle?

Actually that's a manifestation of aggression rather than the cause of it. But I take your point.

I'm a bit surprised that unclevadim seems to be racist, but Russia didn't have a good relationship with China in the communist years, maybe it's normal even for left-wing Russians to dislike Chinese. It's a common attitude throughout the wolrd anyway, take the 2004 tsunami - the fact that 200 million Asians died was given about the same or less importance as the fact that about 150 British people died in the British media. It's the way our tribal human nature works.

On the bigot question, there's a difference between getting pissed off at an individual you disagree with and getting pissed off at an entire group of people because of someone or something you don't agree with. The bigot's response to their relative, spouse or friend being raped would be to hate the person who did it and their entire ethnic group if it was different from their own, whereas the non-bigot hates only the person who committed the crime and recognises that the person was not acting as the representative of the way of life of their ethnic group.

Personally I can't fully go along with the self-righteous democratic line that you have to tolerate people whose views you think are wrong, because everyone draws the line somewhere. I fully support the suppression of fascist parties for example, and proper free speech and tolerance would mean allowing them to spread their poison, so I can't support that as a principle. I don't think there's such a thing as total tolerance, even the centrists are intolerant of extreme views.

I agree with you most of the way - and yes there's no such thing as true democracy.

However - using the argument but we white is racist no matter how one chooses to view it.
Racism is not a belief - it's an assumption based on the lack of other arguments.

I wasn't saying it wasn't a racist belief, I think I said it was. Racism is a belief in the true meaning of the word, it's the belief in a world segregated along ethnic lines, and the belief that someone's behaviour is determined by their race. Most importantly, it's the belief that some races are better than others. Vadim's comment falls into the ideological racist category, since I think he was saying that Europeans and Americans are worth more because they are white - carrying the assumption that we are innately superior because of race.

Rapists have a lifestyle and they represent other rapists; they have a reason and stand for something; sometimes they dislike women and want to overpower and disgrace them, etcetera...

When he says "we white" I am under the assumption he is being racialist not racist; I think he means that we are alike and share cultural amenities for example. I didn't pick up that white people are worth more because they are white.

China is a great threat to Western civilization; not that I am anti Chinese culture, I like it better then Western culture, but its very clear the threat that the Chinese country posses to the Western way of life.

You're wrong about rapists, it's not always an inherent psychology and certainly not a way of life. The actions of conquering armies throughout history shows that many people can be rapists given the opportunity.

Exactly how is China presenting a threat to the Western way of life? It doesn't export it's culture or way of life, it's not in a position to dominate Western countries. The West has already exported it's culture to so many countries through imperial and economic means, it's not under any kind of threat from a Chinese backlash. China may pose a threat as a growing economic competitor, but I can't understand why that's a threat to the Western way of life. If anything they're the ones whose way of life is threatened by Western culture, and in becoming more and more capitalist they're adopting the Western economic way of life.

Well you are thinking in a gray area, I'm in black and white. A Rapist is some one who does it by profession not someone that does it under war or date circumstances.

China; militarily and economically, becoming a threat. And I think you are wrong about their backlash.
