I knew this title would draw attention! :D

But what would you think if a Hidden & Dangerous: Source mod would be released with great quality textures, models and maps?

The whole idea is to bring back good ol' Hidden & Dangerous: Deluxe to a much higher level of graphics, physics and realistic gameplay.

Are there any experienced modders here who'd like to start a mod-developing team for Hidden & Dangerous: Source?

Please contact me: h3nry3@gmail.com

I as usually have understood nothing.
About what you speak?
You can change a source code(Insanity2)?
To change or add new functions.
Or to force to turn at the tank all wheels?
Or what? :?:

It's manually making Hidden & Dangerous on top of the Half-Life 2 game.

But it shouldn't be changed to much.

It's just bringing back a good old shooter with a high-level of graphics, sounds, physics and realistic but fun gameplay.

Good idea, then we can get CS Goes WWII re-visited on source
Muuahaha

But really, I am against the idea, even thought Source engine has capability of making good psychis and graphics, it is pretty heavy (IMHO, more heavier than F.E.A.R?s engine) overall, especially in MP. Would reguire that you need uberpowerfulcomp to play it without that your machine is having judgement day.

It's actually one of the only applications which has a working SDK and the engine actually works on my pc.

I can't play Battlefield 2, Vietcong 2, Call of Duty 2, FarCry, F.E.A.R. and alot of next-current-gen (as I'd like to call 'em :D) games at all.

Now Half-Life 1, Call of Duty, and FarCry are bearly playable on my pc.

But Half-Life 2 is a game where I get decent framerate, at least above 10 FPS.
To be exact I get around 60 FPS average FPS with all features (including shaders) on high.

The F.E.A.R. (Lithtech 2) game engine is atm the heaviest engine, atm even heavier than Unreal Engine 3.0!!!

In fact I love to play Half-Life 2: Deathmatch on my second pc: a Pentium 2 450@566 with 256MB PC-66 RAM memory and
a Voodoo 3 2000 16MB... ;)
I don't get an framerate higher than 50 FPS. But it does run... Can't say that of Battlefield 1942 or Morrowind...
Every setting is on low though... At I play at 800x600...

I know that F.E.A.R?s engine is pretty heavy, but my brothers comp, HL-2 runs and so does F.E.A.R, but he tested to play both games with full detail settings and HL-2 actually ran over 20 FPS slower than F.E.A.R even in close situations, and my *critisism* is based when I tested once both games on that comp.

PS: My comp can barely run Mafia and H&D2 + something other games like that. Perhaps that?s why I prefer playing some old games more than new ones.

It might mean you'd have to install new drivers, do a clean sweep (both spyware, junk and virusses), do a little tweaking, etc.

You lucky bastard, I can't run FEAR at all.
My computer doesn't have the features to play it... :(

And have you tried Quake 3-engine based game like Call of Duty?
(I can't run that either :()

CoD does run somewhat, MoH runs decently, but my comp cannot run F.E.A.R, my brother?s comp does :P

I Quite like the sound of this idea, in theory anyway. After all we don't know if IS will even think of making a new H&D so why don't we go ahead and make one ourselves?

Its a shame H&D hasn't reached the level of popularity it deserves so by putting it onto a more widely used engine it would get noticed by more people.
There isn't really any other game out there quite like H&D so providing the mod is done right it should get noticed. By that I mean that I mean it needs to keep its style (semi-stealthy SAS game), look (varied, detailed, expansive maps) and atmosphere.
Plus if this was made it could fix all the things we don't like about H&D2 and add everything thats missing.

I'd just like to know do you plan to make it into a single player game or will it just be MP?

I'd like to help but I'm not much of a modder, I have however got lots of ideas for missions and maps alreay written/drawn down so I may be able to help with that aspect.
