Hows it goin all?
Ive been lurkin this forum for years now. I decided to register to get into some H&D chat, and finally get involved with some of the great discussion here.
Recently, when gamestop clearanced out H&D2, I went to all the gamestops in my area, and bought about 15 of them for 99cents. It was pretty crazy to think I spent 50$ on it when it was new. you couldent even print the manual for that price, let alone the box..
I gave everyone I know a copy, and am slowly getting the guys Saber squadron.
Why? Im glad you asked!
I started gaming in 78' on a 2600 when I was 3, got a commodore 64 when I was 13..and moved up to every new system or PC that came out.
You name it, I Played it, IF it was worth a shit.
So Ive been gaming for 30 some years. I have NO PROBLEM stating that Hidden & Dangerous 2 is the finest game of its kind ever made. I played H&D on pc, then Dreamcast, which WAS better than the PC version. Waited patiently for H&D2 to come out. when it did I was hooked. The amount of detail, and flexablility ingame is staggering. YES..there is flaws. but its still the king of the genre. I still play OFP, and ARMA, which are the only two games that can even come close, but they are different games.
I must have beat H&D2 and SS more than 10 times apiece. and I keep coming back to it.
Im a COOP player so if anyone wants to play coop lemme know when and where, and I will be there...team player here.
H&D3.IF it ever comes...SWEET..im not holin my breath, but IGN.com DOES have it listed as an upcoming game...
What id like to see in 3
-a dynamic morale to enemy AI. this would resolve the surrender/capture issue, and make for great ever changing maps, depending on how the troops. Wounded enemy and friendly AI might want to just lay down for awhile, or run away..
-a more REALISTIC wound system. Instead of just a power bar, arms should be damaged to degrade weapon performance, legs slow you down. I would like to see a "stun" or "shock" system where a round bounces off your helmet or a grenade explodes close, you lose control of your character for a second or two and he may do random shit,ie walk in circles holding his head in the middle of a firefight..or, drop his weapon and "cower" This would give the endurance skill more potential and usefulness..
-Better machine gun performance. The MG's should be the dominant force in this game, yet they are pretty inaccurate. 82nd airborne here, I humped a 240 bravo, and it dosent matter if its older, the MG's are not as lethal as they should be in the game. The Bren was a fantastic weapon of the time, and it shouldent scatter like buckshot at 200 yards out. It should be like a laser of bullets..thats why MG's are the core of modern infantry platoons and squads..they are deadly..and accurate if used with a BIPOD. the game should have deployable bipods. if your MG is deployed its like a laser of bullets. without the bipod, its just like it is ingame now.
-Better recoil for weapons .as it is now the sniper rifles hardly have any..Sniper rifles should be EXTREMLY difficult to use. I know...I know...everyone wants to snipe..NOT ME. not just anyone can grab a sniper rifle and hit a headshot at 100 yards..there should be something MORE to it..something unique to make sniping a hard chore. mabye once your zoomed in, you have to use the WASD buttons to fine tune your aim?? I dunno but sniping is WAAAAY too easy...anyone who has looked thru a scope while standing knows what im talkin about. mabye somehow incorporate the wind?
-obviously more weapons, but they should have different choices of ammo..MGs...tracer/Ball?AP/Incendiary..each would have its up and down..
-Rifle grenades
-Radio man. if you decide to bring a radio either in single player or multiplayer, you should be able to have supplys dropped, artillery and airstrikes. of course its heavy, and you couldent carry much with it, but then the squad would defend that man..or at least the radio
-Parabolic arc on bullet trajectory. Anyone who has fired REAL weapons, knows about bullet drop. any one who hasnt would be VERY suprised to find out just how much higher you have to aim to hit a target at 500 yards like you can in this game. I would like to be able to hit a button, and adjust my sights. you would have to judge your distance like real, but that would be a REAL SWEET feature.
Well, thanks for readin my H&D3 ideas..I have a ton more...My name is Dave. The reason I bought so many of those games was to show all my COD and Halo buddys a REAL game...now they are mostly all hooked.
