I haven't had a capable computer for over a year now, but what ho, H&DD doesn't need one. I decided I might as well play again.
Thanks for keeping the site going!

I was thinking of playing myself again, not played it in years. I bought the original for a fiver & also downloaded the free delux version, i forget, is there a difference between the two & what are those differences?

The original used the insanity1 engine, the deluxe version uses insanity2. There are fewer bugs and the lighting and performance has increased in Deluxe but there are a few things "off" about it.

Any chance of a comprehensive list?

Well the main things different from H&D1 and H&D Deluxe are:
Deluxe is missing:
* exploding models
* different faces on soldiers and enemies
* no nazi insignia (easily fixed)
Deluxe has:
* overhauled graphics [the main difference]
* better multiplayer support
* overhauled collision system, tactical map and improved AI
They took out the faces for performance and didn't complete some things they were going to add due to a lack of time. At least that is the official note.
I have a project called H&D Deluxe restored in which I am editing the Deluxe game to be closer to the original. At this current point in time the project is frozen until I finish the website.

Deluxe is missing:
* HD1 Intromusic
* FFF/DB Outroanimation/Movie
* some diffrent weaponmodels
* captured not frozen PIV in the Greece mission (Temple)
* Both hangars are useable in Poland
* Better Multiplayercode (it is possible to play with 4 guy with a 56k without lags, thats nearly impossible in hdd)
