Re: Mapdownloader
Even without modifing the HD2 exe, I was thinking about an indipendent client (a software by itself) which connects to a certain IP (the server IP), then look inside a shared folder with a particular name, and then synchronize the actual hidden directory with what is found inside that server directo...

Re: Mapdownloader
Yes, a known problem. Also, a "synch over lan" would be helpful. Every time I make a new mission, all the people at the lan party have to copy it into the right folder. And not all of them are good at this, so it takes a lot of time! A client which connect to the server and synchronize it's own pc w...

Re: New way Editor!
Thank you! :) Help is always appreciated! I'll fix 0x0032 (just a label rename is needed). I read as raw data all those blocks that are not worthing to modify (or I did not understand). For example, the 0x24AE of ladder definitions is always the same (I suppose) and there is no need to change or und...

Re: Editing zone owner
Actually, two bytecounts have been changed (automatically by RevEngEd 2). Also bytes @38542 have been changed, from 12362 to 30168. Actors.bin has a recursive structure. You have a block, which is "ID [2 bytes] - length [4 bytes] - *data [length-6 bytes] ". *data could be two things - a list blocks ...

Re: Editing zone owner
You have wrong texture index in map.4ds objects. First of all, look at this log (right-click, save and open with an editor to see line numbers): map.4ds.txt In the first part you can see the textures: - number 5 (line 29) is X_BLUE.TGA, i.e. the blue transparent color - number 6 (line 36) is X_FLGAL...

Editing zone owner
Are you sure? I just compared both zone definitions & model files. The only difference is the name zone1 / zone2.. So probably you meant scene2.bin? However i've uploaded both. Ehm, in actors.bin I can't find the zone2 object (both specification and definition). Here's a screenshot of what RevEngEd...

Re: 4ds files hacked
Uh, sorry. The info about the owner of a particular zone is inside "actors.bin". I need that file.

Re: 4ds files hacked
Hi.
RevEngEd is able to handle only occupation missions, not co-op. So, about checkpoints, I'm afraid I must say that no: RevEngEd can't handle CP.
About the area of the respawn, instead, it could make something. Send me the map.4ds and tell me exactly what you want, so I'll have a look at it.

Re: 4ds files hacked
In Africa3 there is something odd with the fountain. Probably just an alpha channel not properly set.

Re: New way Editor!
New feature implemented. When loading an "actors.bin" file, now the editor checks for some byte counts integrity. In fact, to manually modify files (using an hex editor) can introduce errors that H&D2 apparently can handle. For istance, adding a "definition block" at end of file usually works, despi...

Re: 4ds files hacked
To check, you should also retrieve the textures (.BMP) used by the locomotive, and compare them using a graphic software. You'll know immediately if they are different in brightness.

Re: 4ds files hacked
Based on what I know (which could be wrong) H&D2 has no realtime calculated shadows. Instead, shadows are "painted" directly on textures used (think about the palm shadow below the tiger tank). So, probably the authors had in mind a certain light direction, when they made the Station map. And they r...

Re: 4ds files hacked
@hdmaster: Very Well! A great work you are doing! :D Yes, I'm working on the editor by now. Here are some other screenshots, if you like: http://www.hidden-and-dangerous.net/board/index.php/topic,2116.msg10818.html#msg10818 The DC|ED-style editor is almost done. Now I'm working on the more user frie...
