Re: 4ds files hacked
Do you have a folder called 'H&D 2' in '3ds Max\Scripts\' and does the folder '3ds Max\Scripts\Startup' contain 3 .ms files starting with 'HD2_' ?

Re: 4ds files hacked
@lexov: Thanks, it was the number of face groups and the face order that caused the problem. So here's the new version. Click Me . Don't forget to read the readme file New in 2.1: import files with morph data ( morph data will be skipped ) e.g. soldiers CREATE sectors, occluder and LODs (Level of de...

Re: tree.klz think tank
Thanks for the translations, I'll add it to the list. Sorry I made a mistake, the last column of the matrices in tree.klz IS [0,0,0,1]. I got confused with all that float variables there. Problem solved ;) // Update The collision grid of HD2 is again very similar to the one lexov posted: // GridWidt...

Re: 4ds files hacked
Thanks for the advice!
Is an exact vertex position of a mesh somehow important for the LMs? Because the exported positions do not coincide completely. A vertex imported to X = 0.000041 may show up in a 3ds Max exported file as 0.000042.

Re: tree.klz think tank
I need help :P @lexov: I have a few questions for you :) What's the purpose of the 'vector3 Extends[2]' values? The bounding boxes are built just from one lower and one upper vertex, right? What effects do the different flags have? // Update I made a list with the materials and their IDs based on th...

Re: Editing soldier stats
The humanstore.def file is based on chunks where each chunk has an ID that identifies it's content. This ID is always followed by the length of the chunk. A chunks can also be a child/parent of another chunk. So basically it looks like this: ID = 2 bytes (short value, I represent it as hex) length ...

Re: tree.klz think tank
Wow, thanks lexov! This information will save us a lot of work! :D There are just a few small differences I've encountered so far. Here some examples: // Header [char4] FourCC: GifC [short] Version major: 5 [short] Version minor: 1 ... As Ikaros already mentioned H&D2 also handles the Z axis...

Re: tree.klz think tank
Very great work Ikaros !
Looks like b1 is used to identify the type/length of a structure:
0x80 length: 192
0x82 length: 32 ( none in normandy2_mp_zone but in sicily1 @ offset 1976984)
0x83 length: 160 ( similar to the one with length 192 )

Re: 4ds files hacked
@Marvin: It's still not possible to build new collisions, but have a look at the 'tree.klz think tank' thread here for new information about collisions. @Ikaros: The function ReadDouble is supported by versions prior to 3ds Max 2008 only through the Avguard DLX Extension (download here ). This packa...

Re: 4ds files hacked
Sorry for the long wait time on updates but I was very busy. I'll definetly upload a new version within the next week with a few more features like export for imported sectors and occluder, which means you'll be able to export a complete map back to .4ds :). I've also tested importing most of the FP...

Re: tree.klz think tank
There are people out there who know the structure very well. I guess there names were ASM ( from the Mafia Modding Crew ) and Golod55, the author of TreeRE. Maybe they can help out, because it seems that HD2's .klz files are very similar to the ones Mafia uses. I also think that a .klz file contains...

Re: 4ds files hacked
@Mator: 1. Could you also post the other filenames where the error occurs please? These files contain data I need in order to improve the texture import/export 2. Fixed the problem. I'll upload a newer version soon. Actually, the problem was that the export script just picked the material of the fi...

Re: Mapdownloader
Well, it's possible. Besides my work on the 4ds files, I have started to "patch" HD2. What i was planning to do was to implement: CD-key ban Mapdownloader and some anti-cheat features It's all done by injecting a .dll to hook some funtions, but when it's ever going to be released it will be a patche...
