Re: Best WWII Movies of All Time

It's been ages since I have seen the longest day, I'll have to watch that again one of these days. I haven't seen any of the others you mentioned, but they seem promising so I'll look them up.

One that I'm kind of interested about seeing is "the Monuments Men", when it hits theaters.

Re: What's your favourite mission

I do the same thing. I go "They Who Dare" style between the tents to plant explosives on the plane before it can take off. Or I quietly plant a bunch of mines where the reinforcements come in. I suppose that I really wasn't too fond of was the last one, Burgundy 3. It was a good mission but I think,...

Re: Problem with Spaghetti Airport

That's great, thanks!

I completed the mission by using the tactical view to check inside the tent to find the documents, but that will make it easier.

It would depend how it is used. It should be used like the aqua lung, where it is not necessary for traveling in snow, but it would make it a lot easier.

Re: Best WWII Movies of All Time

The Eagle Has Landed (1976) must have seen it a thousand times and that one with Richard Burton in, Where Eagles Dare (1968) Reach for the Sky (1956) lol I watched the first two of your list, and now I can see a lot of references in HD2. Obviously Adler Castle is similar to "Where Eagles Dare", but...

sounds plausible... the game itself froze when I got to that level...

...Although, cold snow is light and fluffy. Warm, wet snow is heavier and more packed down.

Best WWII Movies of All Time

I just began watching "Kelly's Heroes" for what is probably the 500th time, and I am wondering what other WWII movies are worth watching. So I decided to come here to ask: what do you think are the best WWII movies of all time?

Re: What was your favourite campaign and why?

I liked Snowball, but there were some confusing bits. Particularly the snow. For instance, in the mission iceberg, we can tell that the snow is at least knee high. From my experience in knee high snow, I was wondering why I was able to walk on top of the snow, without sinking in at all, especially w...

Re: What's your favourite mission

I voted sitting duck. I am a huge fan of all of the desert missions, although I feel "Spaghetti Airport" would have been better at night, and if I could give the charges a longer fuse. But I guess I liked Sitting Duck because it was sort-of a combination of the Oasis mission and the Spaghetti Airpor...

If you want something done right...

It is sad where the video game industry is going. Honestly, I still use an XP computer (except for my windows 7 laptop which I use for schoolwork) mostly because I still play a lot of old(ish) games (ie. Sid Meier's Civilization, M1 Tank Platoon II, Transport Tycoon, Worms, the Hitchhiker's Guide to...

Re: What's your favorite WW2 game?

When it comes to WWII games, I have three that I play all the time, and they manage to cover the Air, Land and Sea aspects of WWII. Of course, Hidden and Dangerous 2 covers land. When it comes to sea, I always play Silent Hunter III , probably because of the replay value. The campaign is a career, s...

There is the general who's name escapes me in the Czech campaign, although he only becomes part of your unit as you take him to the villa, after all the enemies are gone (about 100 meters)

Re: the surrender issue

I wish you could sneak up behind enemies and knock them unconscious, and I also wish that after i capture people, I could move them, and use them as hostages to get out of a sticky situation. Another feature, along the same lines, is that I wish tank crews would get out of their tanks after a while,...
