Re: Airborne
I've always loved MOH. Underground and Allied Assault are my favorites and I have so many memories of the series from when I picked up the first one in '99. I have seen how it has recently been whored out by EA in order to milk the title after Rising Sun and was looking forward to Airborne. I was di...

Re: Mafia 2
I understand what you mean I-One. I remember someone quoted as having said "I went outside today and the graphics weren't that good." He was referring to the new MOH. Your point is quite valid as there's too much going on with dynamic lighting and getting carried away with crisp detail and shine. It...

Re: Mafia II engine platform for H&D3 mod?
Very true. Sadly I don't think games have a choice in todays market to only ship for PC (setting aside some obscure pieces). Complexity in console games does exist (Fallout 3, OFP Dragon Rising, etc). But I agree trying t port H&D2 would have been catastrophic. I can imagine how the original was eas...

Re: What's your favourite mission
Yes the British 6th Ariborne was involved in the Ardennes Offensive. So it could have actually made it into SS. Devils Bridge did a first class job with it in my opinion. I enjoyed the maps in SS because they attempted to recapture that huge feeling that the original had. You could see targets befor...

Re: What was your favourite campaign and why?
I enjoyed them all for various reasons including the diversity in the locales and fighting different nationalities. I wish Sabre Squadron could have given us a little more in that department. *I know that most of the ops in H&D 1 and 2 were not undertaken by the real SAS* With that disclaimer, I th...

Re: Mafia II engine platform for H&D3 mod?
Too right Jason. I read about the problems encountered with Mafia II's development. Was surprised to learn H&D2 also had engine issues. I thought they used LS3D from the start. Agreed on H&D being suited for only PC. I really don't think the H&D series marketed in the States well. Its probably a hit...

Re: Mafia 2
I actually have the first Arma and enjoyed it as much Operation Flashpoint. That mod looks nice too  I also find it hysterical that kids/gamers think the market was flooded with WWII games and that modern warfare is a breath of fresh air. There were by far more modern war games at any one t...

Any more skins from this modder? I've used these new ones for a year and they have really done wonders to enhance the replay value for me.

Re: Mafia 2
I just read this. Quite frustrating actually. To think that the game could have been finished a full three to four years earlier, catching the excitement of the initial release, was set back by console wars and an licensing issue for the engine! I hate to harp on it but it might be safe to say that ...

Re: Mafia II engine platform for H&D3 mod?
This is true. Aside from lack of mod support, was Mafia II a disappointment altogether? I hope this doesn't mean that H&D3 hopes are completely squashed. And your're right Johnny. I've just watched a vid of the WWII Mafia level and I think it works for Mafia but not for H&D3. I think H&D3 should hav...

Re: Mafia II engine platform for H&D3 mod?
I'm not so sure that would be horrible. It would have to include first person action though! The standard would be maintained I think if they don't alter the formula for loadout, team selection, sandbox style play and most importantly as Jason has often pointed out, large atmosphere.

Mafia II engine platform for H&D3 mod?
As the title would suggest, I read on a Mafia II forum that the engine supports modding. Could it be possible that a team could produce a decent substitute Hidden and Dangerous 3 release using this technology? I realize its a long shot but I would venture to say its not as far off as perhaps the old...

Re: New Cheat Codes for Sabre Squadron
Then perhaps I should clarify what I meant by standard. I was saying that it should have at least been in the loadout. The fact is H&D2 is based more off of the Commando movies of the 60's and early 70's than real SAS missions. Spaghetti airport, plus the Heatbox and Chesnut missions are the most re...

Where there's a will theres a way. This guys has attached suppresors to both the MP40 and P08 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6V6KDMzHXo&eurl=http://video.aol.com/video-detail/suppressed-mp40-and-luger/868667409&feature=player_embedded An invention by Hiram Maxim in 1902, the first supressors could ...

Re: New Cheat Codes for Sabre Squadron
My utmost apologies for dragging that out, but I would love to say that it was with result. Thanks for your help Jason. With a little backtracking I realized I hadn't properly unpacked the file. A minor error that drove me in circles! THE P08 silenced in my opinion should have been standard in the l...
