Moscow Rhapsody

Unread post by Lardassmonkey » Sat Dec 16, 2006 4:13 pm

Theres a video floating around the net of an unknown game which has been suggested as being both COD4 and Alliance; the silent war. However its been spotted that there is what looks like an Illusion Softworks logo in the corner. it doesn't look anything like what I've seen of enemy in sight so I'm guessing it must be something else. I've heard they are making something else but don't know what so this must be it. Anybody (jason ;) ) happen to have any info on it?

Heres the vid, I have a better version but that seems to have been taken down;

Looks more Vietcong than Hidden And Dangerous to me.

Any second now he's going to rearm at the engineer!

Anyone else notice that the tank's idle engine sound is the same as the Tiger sound in H&D 2? I can understand why people are saying that's COD 4 though, it's exactly the same style. So this is a totally different game is it? It's not Enemy in Sight? Or did EiS become this? I hope not, I was looking forward to EiS, any OFP clone must be good.

Thanks for the link lars, shame I can't find a decent translator... It does seem IS is jumping on the CoD type bandwagon but at least they've chosen a more original setting. I won't hold it against them if it allows them to finance games like H&D3 and EiS (Droz I'm pretty sure this isn't EiS) which will be much more to our liking.

Heh, well it is a working title, but it sounds like the name of a classical music CD. Looks like it might be fun, but the amount of stuff going on in that missions suggests to me that it'll be another short blast, with lots of stuff going on in few missions. Hopefully they'll introduce some more realistic features - didn't see the player crouch/go prone at all in that movie, and I can't remember if he even used the iron sights. And it looked like ammo was unlimited. But it's just a demo...

I don't think so as EiS is meant to be much more like OFP and you play as an american. Its more likely they're using the same models for both which would make sense.

Mafia 2 is also rumored. It could also be that.

Intresting to note that the top link to the youtube movie has now been removed

I was just watching the Moscow Rhapsody movie again (new link on first post edit by me) and I must say that it reminded me of the end of Saving Private Ryan. Playing the game would be intense, it looks really good. Another one from 2KC I can't wait for :mrgreen:

Don't judge it too harshly you know it will have a great story-line and quality gameplay either way. To be honest I did like the general style of Call of Duty BUT it was done is such a childish way and the graphics were very out dated. There was a lot to the game that was standard and boring but the idea of battling the whole way through a map with extra guys on your side seemed more realistic, than one-man and 20 guns.

Everyone has their own favoruite style of game and mine is definitely "hidden and dangerous" :mrgreen: but I do like to play other style of games.

Taken from the Illusion Softworks website:
The goal was set from the very beginning and has never changed. “To develop outstanding games for PC and modern consoles” The Company’s main focus is on realistic action games.
IS/2KC I believe stand for quality. Besides, Enemy in Sight looked/sounded worse... and that was squad based [apparently not squad based but FPS after some research] but again we will see. I judged Mafia then I played it grin01

2k Czech give us more information about "Moscow Rhapsody" help01
