Rising Storm

I checked out the website and apparently there is nothing that actually states that there will be SP in Rising Storm (RS); but I followed a thread on their forum that stated RS will have everything that Heroes of Stalingrad (HOS) had and HOS did have a SP campaign. The botmatch feature was also mentioned in the thread. I also checked out their gameplay video with the producer talking about various maps, weapons, etc.

Again, ta for the info. I'll need to keep my eye out for this. thup01

Hope you don't mind me putting these in a separate Rising Storm thread so they don't get lost in the Commandos thread.

It definitely looks like there will be SP allowing you to play as either American or Japanese.

"The game covers the famous island-hopping campaigns in the Pacific from 1942 to 1945 as the US Army and Marine Corps fight it out with the Imperial Japanese army and Special Naval Landing Forces. Featuring some of the most brutal fighting in the Pacific theater, players are able to experience beach assaults, jungle fighting, close quarters night fighting and more across Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima and Saipan, among other historic hot spots. The player is able to take the part of either side – American or Japanese –playing through the Campaign Mode alone or with friends, or battling it out online in full player versus player multi-player."

Enjoy.

Don't you also have Call of Duty: World at War? The USMC / Pacific campaign isn't bad. Reminded me at times of Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault.

Jason:

Just FYI, Steam has an offer to pre-purchase Rising Storm slightly discounted till the end of the month (30 May 2013) giving access to the Beta. I checked out some of the gameplay here:

Marine Night-time
Rising Storm - Epic First Impressions by SideStrafe

Japanese Daytime
Rising Storm - Stand Fast by SideStrafe

Cool I never really followed RO2; but Jason gave me a heads up about Rising Storm since he knows I like Pacific theatre stuff.

:?: Did your purchase include any SP gameplay? I'm an SP-only player.

:?: Did you get the regular or Digital Deluxe Edition? I'm guessing the Deluxe Edition only benefits MP players.

Any input you can provide will be greatly appreciated. smile01

Danke ...

you should do it...
when you got RO2 you have 40% of Rising Storm ( Deluxe 14.99€ ),
or you buy Rising storm and got the Deluxe Upgrade of RO2 for free!

i just saw the training button, but never used it sry.
RO2 got a cool SP mode in Axis and Allied Side.
At the Moment are ca. 3000 people online in Rising Storm and 1000-1500 in RO2

i've got the Deluxe version, it was 3€ more only :)

Thanks for your input. I went ahead and bought RO2 HOS GOTY Standard and RS Deluxe.
JonnySniper wrote:RO2 got a cool SP mode in Axis and Allied Side.
That sounds good. I saw some SP gameplay on YouTube and the reviewer thought it was good too.

Unfortunately, I don't see a reference to SP on the Steam's RS page and my Steam download states "Rising Storm/Red Orchestra 2 Multiplayer." Then again, my RO2 download shows "Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad Beta." I guess I'll find out once my download finishes.

Thanks again ... Duke thup01

Jonny, thought I had answered this a while back. You probably know all this already but still jotting it down for anyone else that might be interested.
JonnySniper wrote:i just saw the training button, but never used it sry.
The training button is apparently the same training you get in RO2 since you learn the basics as a German, not Japanese or US.

Still no SP campaign in RS but clicking the "Steam Workshop" button does let you do RO2 & RS battles with bots. Modders have also converted the night-time maps into day and vice-versa, The maps are available for download on the Steam Workshop.

Cheers and thanks again for your help. thup01

Yeah, I haven't seen anything about an RS SP campaign though it had been previously mentioned. I know the game's strong point is MP but it would be nice if they tie something together like RO2. Cheers. thup01
