Death to Spies 3

Unread post by Jason » Mon Jul 12, 2010 3:54 pm

Well Death to Spies 3 was announced early last month and shown at E3. Here is a link to a video preview at Game Trailers. You can read more about it at the 1C Publishing website. The main features are:
  • Brand new engine with support for the latest graphic technologies.
  • New period setting - Cold War.
  • Travel across the globe including North America, Cuba and Europe.
  • Three playable characters with different skills and abilities.
  • Manually switch between characters at any time.
  • New special abilities to eliminate enemies.
  • New high-tech gadgets.
  • Spy sense ? a special game mode to aid in making tactical decisions.
  • Different mini-games such as lock-picking, poisoning beverages, etc.
The game does look good but I am personally disappointed that the game is not set in World War 2. What do you guys think of the preview?

Looks great, I like the NY setting there in the trailer, but did you see that last take down? How did that work out for him? I don't really like working for the Russians against the US though; especially during that era.

On the 1C forums someone stated that on the Russian forums one of the developers said there would be a WW2 mission in DtS3, so at least that is something!

In previous games you did go up against US and UK soldiers. In the level they show in the tech demo they guy says the mission is to kill a fellow Russian spy as well... guess they are even enough across the board and you really don't have to kill anyone in the game. It's only if you like watching the choking animation

What did you think of the new spy mode? I thought it was very interesting but not really sure if it would work as well as the normal map to see where the enemies could view.

Well, it is useful but I hate vision modes in games. I don't think I would use it if I played it.

you guys should check out death to spies 2 instead. It's basically HD2, just with a simpler game play and no team, but more stealth.
