Hidden and Dangerous Deluxe missions overhaul mod

Hello everyone,

i edited some default H&D Deluxe missions and i would like to post images and movies showing my work - the material was taken from the HDD Editor tool.

You could download my edited missions, head down to the 7th post.

IMPORTANT NOTE!

I was forced to make separate missions downloads due to the forum file size upload limit. You will also need to download my additional files (data.rar and models.rar), in order to get my new edited missions fully working.

I would like to post all my edited default H&D Deluxe missions.

Changes include:

-> new enemy machine gun positions,

-> new enemy snipers,

-> enemy soldiers with changed weapons and statistics,

-> new enemy patrols,

-> new usable vehicles,

-> improved gameplay and realism,

-> new ways of completing some mission objectives.

In this part:

-> Italian campaign mission 1

I added two German machine gun positions, each will defend one of the river bank. I putted also 2 German soldiers behind the bales of wood and a enemy half track. Some German soldiers will use another weapon. I added enemy gunboat on the river.

The mission folder is inside the *.rar archive, open it using Winrar and unpack to your H&D directory, then open your missions.dta file and delete that mission so the game will upload only the new one.

EDIT: I decided to update this mission once again. I added 2 searchlights, because this mission takes place in the night.

I added one new German patrol and 3 snipers. Some German soldiers will use another weapon.

The mission folder is inside the *.rar archive, open it using Winrar and unpack to your H&D directory, then open your missions.dta file and delete that mission so the game will upload only the new one.

I added few new German patrols and one half-track. Some German soldiers will use another weapon.

In this part:

-> Norway campaign mission 3

I changed the behavior of some German soldiers - they will be more aggressive. In addition, some Germans will use another weapon.

-> Norway campaign mission 5

In the default mission, when you exit the tunnel, the Germans will start shooting at you, even if you SAS commandos are dressed in German uniforms (!). Now, you have 4 minutes before the alerted guards arrive and you could kill silently part of the submarine base garrison, but if you open fire all Germans will become hostile. In addition i added a machine gun and one German soldier on the top of the u-boat.

-> Ardenes campaign mission 2

I added one new German sniper, few new enemy patrols, half-track and few German soldiers with panzerfaust.

-> Greece campaign mission 2

I improved the enemy snipers statistics. Some enemies will use another weapon. I placed few anti-tank mines on the ground in different locations along the road. I added few metal obstacles nearby the main road. I added few enemy snipers.

The mission folder is inside the *.rar archive, open it using Winrar and unpack to your H&D directory, then open your missions.dta file and delete that mission so the game will upload only the new one.

In this part:

-> Greece campaign mission 3

I improved the statistics of enemy snipers. Some enemies will use another weapon.

-> additional files (rar archive): replace with the original data.dta file (include deleted and changed weapons descriptions - make a backup of the original file first!)

-> additional files (rar archive): replace with the original models.dta file (include deleted bazooka and BAR 1918 weapon model and inventory icons - make a backup of the original file first!)

The mission folder is inside the *.rar archive, open it using Winrar and unpack to your H&D directory, then open your missions.dta file and delete that mission so the game will upload only the new one.

NOTE: I am using the Waffen SS uniform mod, you could download it here: http://www.hidden-and-dangerous.net/hd/files.php#mods (you need to convert *.bmp files from the mod into *.png ones).

If you have any problems when using my edited missions in H&D Deluxe please let me know and i will try to help you.

All the downloaded missions need to be unpacked into your H&D Deluxe missions directory (i.e C:/Program Files/Take2/Hidden and Dangerous Deluxe/missions).

All the edited missions were tested. No bugs found.

Thank You jacobston . I hope that You will like those edited missions. I am still working on the other ones.

EDIT: I edited few German snipers in game, so now they will scan the horizon for enemy soldiers instead of looking in one direction which is unrealistic in my opinion.

UPDATE:

-> Czechoslovakia campaign mission 1

Some Germans will use another weapon. I added two machine gun positions in front of the cathedral.
On the Russian side of the bridge i added a T-34 tank model - only for visual purposes (unfortunately it couldn't be used). I created 6 Russian soldiers which will assault the hill with the cannon at the start of the mission, but after all they will be killed by Germans, inflicting some casualties in their ranks. In addition 4 Russian soldiers will try to cross the bridge and reach the cathedral square, but they also will be killed. There is an uprising in the city, so the Russians will try to help the insurgents (like in the real history).

-> Czechoslovakia campaign mission 2

I added two groups of Russian soldiers and a captured Panther tank - they will perform an assault on the airfield at the start of the mission from two directions (as mentioned in the default mission briefing), but the Germans will repel the attack (they will kill all the Russian soldiers and destroy the Panther using panzerfaust). The Germans will suffer few casualties (especially the AA-guns crews).

EDIT: Thanks to the forum member NilsZ i managed to add a fully working T-34 Russian tank to this mission, so the Russians will use it instead of captured Panther tank - it looks much better now .
