Solution for uninstall problem for Sabre Squadron

I was about to start Sabre Squadron for the first time through when I decided to go back and experiment a bit with H&D 2.  I was about done with the experiments when I decided to install another program.  That's when I lost the sound of my own rifle firing.

I tried to repair the H&D 2 installation, but no go, so tried to uninstall but that didn't work right either.  The only way I could reinstall H&D 2 was to go into the registry and clear out entries there.

Now there was no way to install SS.  I got no response to an e-mail to Take2 tech support, so I called them.  On the second call I got this info about remarking installshield entries, and it worked.  Maybe it will help others here.  I wrote the whole thing up as a Word document, and I'm going to paste it into this thread.

Must be remarked OLD to fully uninstall

Procedure -

Open My Computer then open the Local Disk (C:)
Open the program files folder. 
Click on the tools menu then choose folder options
Click on the view tab and tick the box labeled "show hidden files and
folders".  Press OK

Open the installshield installation information folder at C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information

Search for a folder named {E2222809-FDED-4C7E-8F25-2337A8F39F03}

Right click on the folder and choose rename.  Press the End key on the
keyboard and type the word OLD.  Press the enter key.
Reinstall the game.
This will replace and overwrite any missing components that were preventing
the game from being installed or uninstalled normally
To uninstall the game, go to Control Panel>> Add/Remove programs and
highlight the game in the list.  Choose change/remove and follow the
onscreen prompts

THE ABOVE DIDN’T WORK FOR ME, but I recommend that you try it before going to the more drastic step which follows. The second technician had me do this and it worked:

Go to the registry editor and find

My Computer\HKEY_Local_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\uninstall\{E2222809-FDED-4C7E-8F25-2337A8F39F03}

Right click on the folder and choose rename.  Press the End key on the
keyboard and type the word OLD.  Press the enter key.
Reinstall the game.
