Patch 1.3 Error
Patch 1.3 Error
Hello.
I am trying to install patch version 1.3 (downloaded from this site). When I unpacked it and pressed h&d icon in the patch folder, it says: "The game is not set up properly. please reinstall". I have tried to install it again (without deleting the game, just inserted the CD and pressed Install), but it didn't work. How to fix this problem?
Edit: I have unpacked the patch in a folder on my desktop. Do I have to unpack it in game directory or anywhere else?
Another question: I'm having some problems: on most missions game sometimes suddenly freezes and I have to wait a bit before it works again. Another problem are game crashes. What is it caused by? I have Windows XP Home, other requirements suit. Is it the problem with CD or patch?
I don't want to download the Deluxe version as I prefer classic one.
Thanks.
Alexander.

Re: Patch 1.3 Error
You unpack the files in the Hidden and Dangerous directory.
Have you tried right clicking the .exe and running the game in compatibility mode for win98?

Re: Patch 1.3 Error
Do I have to unpack them in an additional folder (for example Hidden and Dangerous\hd1_3) or directly in the H&D folder (when I tried doing this, I was warned there is already file with such name as patch has).
Re: Patch 1.3 Error
Thanks a lot, Jason. Now it seems to be working (at least no bud with background when launching the game).
Best regards. Alexander

Yeah in the same directory, just replace any other files. Hope it all works wellAlral wrote: Do I have to unpack them in an additional folder (for example Hidden and Dangerous\hd1_3) or directly in the H&D folder (when I tried doing this, I was warned there is already file with such name as patch has).

Thanks. Everything is working.
But there is one bug left with voice in briefing when they show the map.

Whats wrong with the voice?
Re: Patch 1.3 Error
They just tell the first sounds of each phrase. This occurs in briefings before every mission. Never met such thing in H&D Deluxe. Is there any way to correct it?
Thanks. Alexander.

Re: Patch 1.3 Error
Text appears, map is shown normally, but I can hear just different letters: Th..y..each.. in this way (it's just an example).

I think this has happened to me as well but as for the cause, no idea. Are you on XP, have you tried running the game in compatibility mode?
